I try to limit my wine drinking to half a glass. I posted that I received 15 bottles of wine from CA for about $75 - Naked Wines.

Are you required to be Naked to consume them?

I open one or two bottles of wine a week. The ones with a capsule are usually a thin metal capsule (like lead, but I don't know what material they really are). I take my pocket knife out of my pocket where it always resides when not in use, open it and place it across the neck of the bottle just under the capsule so the sharp edge is touching the glass. I then draw the knife upwards. This cuts a small strip of metal out of the capsule. I then grab one of the free corners of the larger section of the capsule and pull up. This pulls the whole capsule off the bottle. The cork is fully exposed, without a sharp edge of capsule material surrounding it.

I have never cut my finger using this process.

(I will admit to having cut my finger from time to time mis-handling my pocket knife. Occupational hazard not related to opening or consuming wine).

While we are on the subject of drinking, pouring, throwing it away, I have answer to the old question, "is the glass half empty, or half full". The answer of course is that it depends on whether you are drinking or are you poring.

If the glass is half empty or half full in a static situation, then the glass is twice as large as necessary.

Unless you are a serious wine drinker, be sure to call and cancel otherwise you will have another case show up on your doorstep at full retail price. Just sayin. Bottoms up....... Cliff
Been there, done that. I think the next case was about $165.00

That's why you should remove the top part of the foil before pulling the cork. Never pull a cork through the foil and you won't leave rough edges.

Actually, for someone who likes wine, it's not about if "the glass is half empty or half full," it's about "I need a refill..."

I was having wine with my spaghetti tonight, so I reached down to remove the cork from the already-opened bottle, and I cut my finger on the foil remaining on the top of the bottle. The cut is 1/4" long! Has this ever happened to anyone else in the history of the world? I'm 77, and I opened a few bottles of wine in my time. Crazy!

It's good to end the day with a laugh, and a bowl of ice cream.

Jerry, it seems like your problems with your wine bottles, your tools, repairs on your house, problems with your cars, numerous problems with your computers, and many complaints about buying things on-line, and UPS and FedEx delivery's, are just problems because of you yourself.

My box wine is good, a box last for a few weeks, AND there is no foil !!

Yep…us too. We do keep some bottles of good stuff but for everyday a lot of the motte premium box wines ar excellent…and one doesn’t feel like you need to drink the whole bottle…which a lot of times you had Happy Hour first and then just want a glass of wine with dinner.

Yes, it was, and it was hard to tell the blood from the wine.
