That's great!! Good for you!!

I just cannot bring myself to buy an Apple...they are simply too cozy with China.

Bravo Zulu! All the potentially drunken sailors (insert hiccup here) congratulate and encourage you to keep up the good work. Awesome news beating the big “C,” enjoy that new computer and everything else that’s on your reward list. Be assured that I would do the same. Great news on all fronts. 🥂✔️✔️✔️

Dave this the greatest news I've heard this Holiday season! From an 11 year survivor of a nephrectomy and two melanomas I am tickled to death for your good news. You went through 16 years of Hell. I hope that your many remaining years are filled with joy and pleasure. A new wife and a new lease on life...what more could you ask for?!

"Terrifying" is the wrong word. Angry, sad, depressed, and at times during chemo treatments I wished to die to escape the sickness. But there is an up side:
I was a widower looking for a woman to fill the void in my life. A HS class mate of mine came to my rescue when I told her that I had cancer. She was also a recent widow. She drove across three states, moved into my house and took loving care of me. There were some rough times! We are married now and both agree that this is the best time of our life.

There is no danger of me going broke. I have been stupid lucky on many levels!

I'm using it to post this message. First impressions are positive. Soon I will be moving all my images that are currently stored on an external HD to the 8TB SSM on the mother board of the computer.

In other news:
I learned last week that the blood cancer I have been fighting for 16 years has been CURED! The doctor told me that I no longer have cancer and to stop taking the new experimental pills I have taking for the past two years. The pills worked. I don't have cancer. They told me 16 years ago that my cancer was incurable. That changed!

I'm happy and spending like drunken sailor. 6K$ for the computer, what the hay!

The tricky part is going to be moving all my images stored on an external HD over onto the internal 8TB of SSD and continue to use it in LR. I think Apple support will help me with that.

Good News indeed!

Now for the storage. I would just leave the images on an external drive. Maybe upgrade it to an SSD however. Sooner or later you will run out of space on your "internal" HD and then you will have to migrate again.

You need the extra fast internal space to run Photoshop, etc. A lot of it- don't go filling it all up! You don't want these apps to use external drives for needed space while running.

Back up to several EXT Hard drives, heck they can be SSD's if you want. Should be 2 duplicate drives and separated- Take one and store it off-site. THAT is how pros do it.... only time I have heard of multiple hard drives failing at once in multiple places is in politics- and it happens anytime they want it to. :) .

Good news that the cancer is behind you. What a relief it must be.
