Maybe, but the discussion is regarding FedEx.

That driver was REALLY lazy - didn't look like most of those packages had even been opened. Lazy BUT honest I guess....

I think it's an Alabama thing, no problem with any of them here in AZ.

How about an individual thing for someone who happens to live in Alabama?
Years back we had a postal employee who was keeping many of the coupon envelopes that were sent out, most of which had a coupon for a free lottery ticket. I was wondering why I stopped getting the coupons in the mail, yet the business I worked for in another part of the same town was still receiving the coupon mail. I always loved to get those free lottery coupons, but apparently, so did our postperson.

The Post said "Hundreds of packages found in a ravine in Alabama - Fedex sends you a
very Merry Christmas
It says nothing about an individual, so I'll stay with how the post was written, an Alabama thing.

Maybe. That is
your guess. Could have been done over a period of time.
Is my camera battery in that mess? I finally cancelled my order after waiting so long.
My question is why we haven't heard more. Packages I get, at least by UPS and postal, are tracked from one place to another, can't someone tell immediately where the packages last were, etc. Even if someone reported a package here or there as missing over a long period of time, filled their basement, the dumped them, tracking should point to one location or place?
One possibility, someone stole a truck, dumped the packages as too much trouble, only wanted truck?
While some FedEx delivery drivers are independent contractors, many are still FedEx employees. There are different divisions within F/X. I worked as a company driver driving a tractor/trailer for what was FedEx National (since combined with FedEx Freight. I believe FedEx ground drivers are company but F/X express are independent.
Some F/X drivers would like to go to UPS but that can be both good and bad. UPS drivers are well paid and benefits are great but UPS drivers are union members and that can be both good and bad. Good pay/benefits but starting out at the bottom of the driver pool can have its disadvantages. I had UPS try to recruit me when I was at F/X but I was too old to want to start at the bottom. Fed/Ex pay and benefits as a tractor/trailer jockey were pretty good.
