He doesn't have a Canon MILC body but I am sure he mounts his Canon FD lenses on his Sony.

It’s dirt simple easy to put Canon FD and FL lenses into use on Canon R6, R5, etc. exactly same as old Nikon lenses in use on Z6, Z7, etc. No difference. What you posted is simply false “information”.

Beats me where you looked to get your “information” but you might wanna try getting it from somewhere else. I used B&H so I even have a vendor, a product, and a price.

Acoarst I don’t parrot rumors. I actually know these things by really doing stuff. Examples attached. The 2nd and 3rd pix should especially interest you. As you can clearly see, that is a lens for a ca 1960 Canon but I use it on a “MILC” as shown:

And vice versa ! You can put old Nikon lenses AND put old Canon lenses on new Canon R bodies.

We don’t have split screen or prison focus aids as in the SLR days.

So the big deal for me is without those aids, the camera can autofocus faster and better than my old eyes.

Every EVF camera has waaaay better MF aids than we every had in ANY SLR, of any size, from any era. Those old eyes have huuuuugely better assists available today than ever before.

I think that this thread has used up its usefulness. The main points are that Nikon doesn't make an adaptor that works with autofocus on Nikon's screw drive lenses and neither does anyone else.

Also noted here was that some of the older lenses are quite good. If one switches to the Z system, they won't be fully functional (loss of autofocus), and an individual has to decide if it's worth the expense to switch to Z and buy replacements. The end.

Three years ago I lost 65% of my vision, so I understand your position. My sight is coming back after 2 operations, and may need one additional operation soon. I still use zone focusing for street photography. I preset the focus point, usually 7 feet, with my 35mm lens set at f/8. I walk into the focus area or let the action come to me.

I totally agree with you. DSLRs in my opinion are equal or Superior! Especially in Still photography. I don't do video, no interested in cinematography. Plus can't stand Evf's, prefer the live view. Thanks

All electronic solutions, like Canon's 1980s revolutionary EOS / EF-mount, continue to pay dividends as camera technology continues to march forward in the 21st century. Backwards compatibility used to be Nikon's strength, but now it's Canon's.
