Years ago, I bought some Xume magnet filter holders. I can pop a filter on or off very quickly. Manfrotto bought Xume, and they're basically no longer available. I don't understand that kind of business thinking. I'm surprised that other companies haven't introduced magnetic filter holders. I should have bought more when they were generally available and reasonably-priced. If you see them now, the prices are ridiculous.
I find this site reminds me of things I otherwise would never think of again. Years ago (decades?), you may remember they had boards which could double the size of disk drives. My dad bought one, which I got to increase the size of a drive by 70%, but device stated only part of drive was being used. I tracked down the owners (New company), they had bought out the original maker, but not the board I had. Told me they could not even talk to me about it, not their property. So original maker gone and no one who could do anything!!! Support did tell me that they did not know how I go the 70% increase as it should not have been possible to get the board to work at all.
I also know a company that bought out another instrument company with the idea of dropping the second companies instruments and selling theirs to the customers. Customers informed them that they would just as likely go elsewhere. They ended up supporting the second company instruments.
