It's a Gator and it's some good eating.

I haven't tried any yet. But I was in Africa last year and tried some crocodile nuggets. Pretty good!

Myakka State Park, Florida.

When we toured the Everglades https://www.nps.gov/ever/index.htm National Parks, the ranger told us the everglades are the only place in the USA you will see crocs and gators at the same time.
Certainly worth a visit. The boardwalks are fabulous for photographing the inhabitants.

Gator most likely, possibly a Cayman ( crock-sub species).....traditional crocks have very long and slender snouts, usually and I believe are found on African continent.
I am not an expert on those guys....sorry.

Yes, African. But there are some in Florida, fresh water, not like the Australian salties.

Thanks Mike. Yeah I like it as a photo but it looks especially...uh...evil to me for some reason.

Most all Florida crocodiles live in brackish water so this is almost certainly a gator. The rounded snout confirms it. As an aside, gators do not stock or attack people as cross do. The few people bitten or injured by a gator almost always step on him. Nice picture.
