Seen a bridge digital camera on HSN, the Fujifilm 14 mp 30X (fixed lens).
Anyone familiar with it?

I had an S7000 and S9000 a few years ago. Very good with that looong zoom.
I have had three fuji cameras and loved every one of them. I think there a great camera for a second or a take along every where camera.
Buy with confidence in the fuji name
I have been a Fuji customer for the past decade. currently with a compact f505 and a bridge hs30exr. I currently shoot raw + jpeg in both camera's making the pp possible for all my shots. Buy with confidence in the fuji name.

My first digital camera (6/7 years ago) was a Fuji S5100 with a 10x zoom and 4mp. Still use it occasionally (and like it) but it is slow on startup and picture taking compared to todays models. Our son had one too, a 3mp that took better pictures though that broke down after 4 years.
My first SLR was a Fuji ST801 and I think it is the best camera I've ever ad. Nothing wrong with FUJI.
If it's the Fujifilm HS30exr I can really recommend it. Great camera and (in my hands) great photos.

I got a S4000 used one on EBay, 12 months old and to be honest the zoom 30x zoom is unbelievable, I took one handheld (I had no tripod with me) tonight on full zoom of the moon, here's the pic.

On my monitor, I see a great deal of noise. I take it that this is a digital zoom-- not an optical zoom?
Decided at age 86 I was too unsteady and sold my Canon Rebel outfit and bought a rather cheap Fuji that had all the manual controls. I was surprised at the quality of pictures i get with it and find it to be truly a bridge camera.

I blame the unsteadiness on new cameras. I don't know how they do it, but modern cameras are not as steady as the cameras in the 1970's. Wether it's P&S or a DSLR, when I hold it up and look through the viewfinder, there is noticeable shake. It's good the camera makers came up with VR as I got older. :D

I think it has a lot to do with the weight and balance of modern DSLR cameras.
