Just FYI; the choice isn't to "take them to court" or "don't care"....there is a middle ground. Some do care but have other considerations that outweigh the negatives.

Wherever you work this is basically the system.

we try to buy chiles by matching the price but they had run out of chiles
I asked the employee to level with me and tell me what was going on..... She told me that the manager told them to remove the product until the price on the other store changed

Looks like Walmart has found other ways to save money.

Ours no longer has the greeters.
And now there is a big kiosk full of self-check out registers.
Goodbye to half the cashiers that used to work there.
All the isles are now cluttered with pallets of extra merchandise impeding easy movement throughout the store.
...and there's nothing you can do about it. If enough complaints are lodged against a Walmart store, that area is considered hostile and the store closed. But that won't bring back the mom and pops. Federal and state rules and regulations discourage any small business to originate when it comes to retail sales.
Mom and pops can't compete with quantity discounts either.
They can't buy overpaid lawyers to represent them either.

Honestly, I hate Walmart. But in my small town they have run every other good grocery store and place to shop out of business. I love making them ad match. I guess I figure if I have to give them my money since there's nowhere else close to shop I might as well give them less by making them ad match. I always have my matches written down and then if they want to double check the ads they can call someone over with the paper copies they keep. I had one checker tell me that an ad I had one time from another store said there was a limit of 2 and I had 8 of the items. I said that's ok you can just make it 4 separate transactions.(She rang them all up together on one ticket.)

With the almost limitless shopping choices available on the web, why go ANYWHERE? We do our food shopping at a local Publix, but for 99% of what we need that's not available at Publix... we hit the web.

We live inside the Atlanta Perimeter I-285 and have several major shopping centers within a few miles: Phipps, Lenox, Gwinnett, Perimeter, Northlake...

But why face the hassles of a mall?

I keep hearing these anecdotal stories about how the evil wal mart drove EVERY OTHER BUSINESS in town out of business just by showing up....

I've lived in several places in my life from very large cities to very small towns and I've yet to see it.

I think it's exaggerated claim because you don't like wal mart.

If Walmart drove anyone out of business, don't blame them...blame your friends and neighbors who shopped there. Wal Mart is only doing good business...low priced items that people are "evidently" willing to buy over other places.

It's the basis of our economy...provide something that the public wants, at the price they are willing to pay...and do it better than the other guy and BINGO! You stay in business.

The reason Walmart has so many applicants - they hire anyone that is willing to work part time. No Papers are checked. You don't have to be qualified to do the job either.
Their Sales people work in a department, but have no idea what they are doing. In our area, most of the clerks don't even speak English. That alone is a big reason not to shop there. Hire Americans who need a job not ilegal aliens that take the jobs from Americans but pay no Taxes.

But....I thought the rap on Wal Mart was that they hire Americans who need jobs at full time 40 hours and then nefariously hack them to part time so that they can't earn a living wage and are trapped in the evil WM empire?

Which is it?

Bull crap. I'm calling bull.

Are there illegal immigrants who work at WM? Possibly...but like any other business...they do the required paperwork...

Like millions of other jobs...and this is a minus? They are willing to train....sheesh...they can't win can they?

Not in my experience any more than any other business...but then again...I'm living close to some AMAZING Wal Marts where normal Americans work, and are glad to have a job and know their job and do pretty well at it....I'm special that way. :)

Wow...this is amazing...before in this thread they were screwing Americans by hiring them...now they are screwing them by NOT hiring them....they can't catch a break with this crowd can they?

Break out the pitch forks and the torches.

Hello there, as you say I was wrong, although the other day I bought some wine from Tesco, at the check out I was charged 29p more per bottle. I questioned this and a supervisor went to the shelf and returned with the shelf edge ticket which proved I was correct. He explained that the price had increased but the ticket had not been removed, he then pressed a few buttons on the till and I only had to pay the lower price.
Perhaps the gentle way I handled the complaint resulted in a satisfactory outcome.
John.
