Y-do most street & documentary photographers use Leica

I think it's rather that street photographers who use Leica have a greater tendency to point out what brand of camera they are using - with the intent to be taken more seriously, I suppose. Therefore, it only seems like most street photographers are using Leica. For example, someone who uses a Konica camera for street photography is probably not going to mention the camera all too much.

It would be interesting to take an informal survey of street shooters on various internet sites, such as UHH and youtube to see if there are any patterns. I am just thinking on the keyboard here, but I wonder if street photography has an appeal to the younger shooters and if Leica might be beyond many of their budgets. I know there is quite a range of quality, or perhaps I should say in what I find appealing.

Have you viewed Graham's street photography?

Do you still beat your wife?

Or ... your question is one that assumes facts not in evidence.

I hold that a street photographer can do this kind of photography with any camera and lens suitable to the purpose.
