Package thieves have been known to follow delivery trucks.

This is an odd one. I heard what I assume was the UPS truck yesterday. Twenty minutes later I went to the front door - no package. I checked the side door. No package. I received an email from UPS saying it was left at the front door at 5:39. I just filed a report with UPS, so I'll see what happens. I could proceed with Amazon, but I'll wait to hear from UPS.

I think I'll get a security camera to see what's happening out front so I'll have proof of what was or was not delivered.

Something similar happened to me a few years ago with UPS, which has been far better than FedEx for my deliveries. My son-in-law sent me a package but used the wrong street number; he used the number across the street from me. I too heard the truck, got no package, and noticed UPS status said delivered. Only later did I discover that the package was addressed incorrectly. I recommend you check the address actually written on the package.

I had that happen, especially when Amazon started using their own delivery vans... I ended up installing security cameras for that very reason. Check out Wyze, they are inexpensive and pretty good.

Speaking of Amazon I’m about done with them. Last five orders, 2 were incorrect items not even close.

Rapidity (if that is a word) seems to have replaced service. Good service is hard to find and it seems that the more turns that can be made the more the profit. I know this helps to keep costs low but what about the other costs. Are we robbing Peter to pay Paul to make more profits? Too often we are left with nothing because of profit margins. I see it all the time, especially with big box stores.

It was left "at the front door" - of my neighbor's house. He brought t over to me the next day. He's new to the neighborhood, so he walked up and down the street looking for the house number.

I still haven't heard from UPS, and there's no way for me to get back to them about it.

What bugs the crap out of me is when a company sends out an order via UPS, FedEx, or DHS and the order gets dropped with the USPS for final delivery. The order sits at some post office point many miles from the destination and sits there for several days. Then, miraculously, the item is out for delivery in the destination city four or five days after the estimated delivery date. Tracking for such items is not well connected with times or points od=f transfer.

And, I'm sorry, but I don't understand why those delivery persons don't 'hit' the doorbell
button so the recipient might know to check that someone / something is there.
Oh, I know it might add a second more time to their schedule, but . . .

I got an update from UPS to give them more information, but I have to enter an account number that I don't have. Without the account number, I can't send it to them.

What that means is the sender has to initiate the track

Sounds like a good plan for me too!
