I asked this section t be created in order to offer a comprehensive and definitive answers to commonly asked questions that relate to troubleshooting software used by photographers as well as those related to computer issues while working with said software...

I would really appreciate if some folks would volunteer to help as moderators (2) and with their expertise as many as needed.

To learn more you may want to check it out, I have created a skeleton of the section and most original topics are open for comments as I wish to get your input in order to do it right.

Pretty soon we'll have a section for anything that comes to mind.

Too many failed sections based on usage. Maybe, because you can get answers instantly by just learning how to use Google.

IMHO

I have always appreciate hearing from those of us who actually work with the different software's we use in our craft...
I have always gained much from real people workflows and solved problems...
Just like reading reliable reviews on products...Every so often a unique inside tip will emerge or a way of thinking and doing something will come to mind...

Thanks,
It would be nice to have the computing related questions in one place. Also, being in a separate section should help to keep topic hijacking down.

However, the name is in a bit of conflict with what you have posted here. The title indicate support for both computer issue and software issues. Your statement seems to indicate only software issues and computer issues related to particular software. The title would invite the various system upgrade questions while your statement seems to exclude them.

Yes I like your idea. Just hope the respondents provide accurate info rather than just an unreliable comment because they just want to see (hear) themselves in the blog.

The admin asked me to narrow the support as otherwise it would become a free for all computer support.

Issue raised by the software (I as I see them rather simply) are
- Upgrade components (disk/memory)
- Purchase
- Backup
- Display choices
- Accessories (tablets)
- Tethering issue
- ...

Comprehensive yes, definitive, do not hold you breath. Regardless, count me in.

Looking at the historical success and failures of Rongo's new sections, I think I'm just being a realist.

I hope I'm wrong this time.

I intend to link solutions to authoritative websites.
How to fix?
UHH solution
Link(s) to publisher/manufacturer FAQ or support forum treating the same thing to confirm.

Sample
Lost image in LR
Check the directory, question mark? Moved or missing, all files will have a "!"
Check if the directory has been moved or deleted.
If moved, find where, relink one image, the rest will automatically update.
It is possible that they are on a removable drive, reconnect it.
Deleted? Ouch. Check the recycling bin, it may still have it.
Some files have the "!" and not others?
These files may have been moved or deleted.
If moved, good luck finding them. How to proceed depends on OS.
If deleted, check the recycle bin. If not and you have a backup copy, restore it.
This is what I gathered reading UHH. I do not use LR.
Best practice to avoid the issue: Use Lightroom organizer to copy/move/delete files or directories.
[Link to forums] Sorry, I do not have the time at the moment. Search engine will do.
It is just common sense and reading...

As it stands now, issues related to photo editing software can be (should be?) addressed in the Post Processing section, no? General computer related issues (e.g., operating systems, external drives, backup schemes, etc) have a home in the Chit-Chat section.

A new section dedicated to a "slice" of the software/computer world might be confusing.

No, post-processing is not about solving a software issues, hence this section.
I will transfer request for software support to this section as needed.

They have a home, sure.
Can you find a thread that is not repetitive?
If this section offers solutions to a common issue under an index, as I intend to, it will make it easier to find the existing solution through a simple search within a single thread.
