The people from other country's south (and from other places through the south) of us are already gathering and starting to move north.

Why would they not? Get in, and we won't deport you but give you lots of great free stuff.

The numbers will continue to grow with that kind of an incentive, soon there will be no controls and demands by the left to support the new poor constituents that they have created, then citizenship no doubt.

How is this fair to those that are here now and competing for the same benefits and jobs at the lower end of the spectrum?

How is it suppose to work???

Illegal immigration is not a new problem created by democrats. It has been a problem for decades. For instance, the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 was signed into law by Ronald Reagan and allowed illegal immigrants who entered the U.S. before 1982 to be legalized.

President George W. Bush called for a major overhaul of America’s immigration system to grant legal status to millions of undocumented workers in the United States, saying the current program was not working.

I give trump credit for addressing the problem but some of his methods were horrible. Good strategy, bad tactics.

Did you miss the point? It is a Democracy--one side loses advantage and one side gains advantage. I don't say who is right or wrong, it is Democracy. I answered your question: That is how it works.

You might not agree with the policies of the Democratic or Republican party, but that is the system. We live with it as long as we have a Democracy.

DEMOCRACY!!!

Deal with the loss of the Senate and Presidency, as the democrats did four years ago.

If you are so willing to give your money away to a foreigner you can pay my share of the taxes. It will all come out of our pockets. I for one will refuse to pay my taxes in a normal way. I am changing my name to Juan Valdez and get in on that gravy train you call Democracy.

Should we tear down the Statue of Liberty? Apparently some no longer {or never did} believe in what it represents.

Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

Don't give them money, put them to work. Before covid we had record low unemployment. With the right programs in place many people could be trained and 'earned' jobs in the private sector. The government would have to put the laws in place to let it happen.

If it can happen here, it can happen anywhere.

The Senate can change the rules with a simple majority

As I stated, I wasn't talking about legal immigration, but about the coming surge in illegal immigration that is sure to come once we promise additional benefits to any that are here inside the country regardless of citizenship

Which methods were horrible? All those cage pictures come from the President Obama era.

Why not tell it to Democrats and Republicans. Maybe if they would learn to get along something could be done.

IMHO it is the leadership in both houses and both parties that constitutes the biggest threat to our democracy. When a bill passes 100% on party lines, does anyone believe that nobody on either side of the aisle had a differing opinion? It is the the party leadership that keeps people 'in line' with threats of primaries or cutting off campaign funds. The RNC and DNC hold the purse strings to those campaign funds.

Of course it couldn't be done, but I'd love to see how votes would go if they were done in secret.

They have written multiple papers explaining that the plaque was added later so it is relevant. I'm not sure how you neutralize these fanatics without impinging on basic American rights, but we better find a way. Most of these problems can be traced to how we treated the defeated south following the war. They were a defeated traitorous group, but in the name of conciliation, they weren't treated as such. It wasn't "the war of northern aggression". It may have been "the war of northern capitulation".

I guess you haven’t read Sessions’ and Rosenstein’s confessions that they developed and implemented the family separation policies as directed by trump. Your whataboutisms are wasted breath. There is no equivalency to what the Obama administration briefly did to abide by the Flores clause in immigration law; it was stopped. The family separation without any planning for reunification is a stain on the USA left by Trump right up there along with insurrection and treason. The GOP owns a lot of sins against mankind and country.
