The Left, now in complete control of all the levers of power and does not have to "negotiate" with the conservatives, wants to give direct government money in the form of stimulus checks, health care, education (we already do that for primary and secondary, now at a minimum free community college) to the undocumented (read illegal aliens here, not PC but still the correct word) here now and there are plans to alter the border enforcement rules that had become more effective.

The people from other country's south (and from other places through the south) of us are already gathering and starting to move north.

Why would they not? Get in, and we won't deport you but give you lots of great free stuff.

The numbers will continue to grow with that kind of an incentive, soon there will be no controls and demands by the left to support the new poor constituents that they have created, then citizenship no doubt.

How is this fair to those that are here now and competing for the same benefits and jobs at the lower end of the spectrum?

For the last four years, the Senate and executive branch was under control of the Republicans, now as often happens in democracies, and previously in this country; the tide has turned through an election. Doesn't mean the end of the world, it means Democracy is in effect--much the same way it was designed and has been working since the country began. Democratic process of election often results in a change of power--often a good thing.

Yes, elections have consequences, especially when idiotic ideologues win. Just because they can, doesn't mean they should.

No legislation should be enacted to curry favor with the electorate, it should be enacted to keep our country solvent. The Democratic agenda is aimed at simultaneously increasing the electorate and buying their votes. The influx of illegal aliens will not stop until the US is an undesirable spot to invade. That must be how the Democrats plan on controlling immigration.

Did you miss the point? It is a Democracy--one side loses advantage and one side gains advantage. I don't say who is right or wrong, it is Democracy. I answered your question: That is how it works.

You might not agree with the policies of the Democratic or Republican party, but that is the system. We live with it as long as we have a Democracy.

Free stuff? The people from the southern border contribute more to our economy than they take out. Sure there are a few bad apples, but let’s just get rid of those.

The majority are hard-working and underpaid. They’re not taking any jobs away. If you are willing to pick cabbage at the pay they’re getting I am sure you will be hired.
And if you think that hiring Americans instead and paying them a fair wage is a solution it would send the price of fruit and vegetables sky high, out of reach for many of our population.

Just wait. They will procedurally do away with that and use the nuclear option whenever possible. It takes 60 now on a lot of legislation, but I will bet money that by 2022 it won't take a 60 person majority for most legislation because they will change the rules. That's what Schumer has already said he intends to do.

If they are legal, you are correct. If they are illegal, then you are very wrong. They may pay sales tax, but if they are illegal they don't pay any federal or state income tax, unless they are using identity fraud. That means their kids go to school and the rest of us pay for it.

My wife was a welfare fraud investigator for years, and millions of dollars of public assistance go to the children of illegal immigrants, so, no, they are a drain on the system unless they are legal.

I'm fully in support of legal immigration, but all illegals should be deported and wait in line to enter legally.
