Fact #2 is questionable in my opinion also but there is fact it was said. The article left the retired military officer unnamed. I don't know that the republicans have lost credibility so much as they were pussies and would not fight for the people who believed in the conservative agenda. Not sure if that is because of blackmail because of their misdeeds but I believe that is the reason. Prior to the Clintons leaving Little Rock they compiled an extensive catalog consisting of the misdeeds of many congressmen and women , both democrats and republicans, and used it to ensure their own agenda. That is in use even today.

I imagine that compiling a list of misdeeds on politicians is a fairly easy and effective thing to do.

I personally believe that public service should be worked in a fashion similar to the draft or to the lottery. Perhaps 50 percent elected, and 50 percent drafted or some such.

With term limits, so that after they have been corrupted, they lose power.

At the moment, the most powerful people are like Tucker Carlson (perhaps with more blood on his hands than even Trump).

People should not be rewarded with massive power simply because they are willing to lie and deceive.

First off - happy new year everybody. 2021 will be a good year.

The truth is the Democrats were trying to steal an election that Donald Trump won and they are guilty of electoral fraud and vote rigging. If you don't think so you're listening to the wrong people.

Perhaps you're already aware that America's mainstream media has given up even the pretense of being unbiased. Or perhaps you don't realise how blatant the MSM has become. If you're still living in a nice cosy world where you think you can listen to the mainstream media and let them do your thinking for you, you are in for a rude awakening. Corruption and deceit are widespread. Donald Trump will be vindicated and eventually the media will acknowledge what he has done to reverse and expose corruption (also known as draining the swamp). He has also done much to reverse America's economic decline, so don't listen to suggestions that America's economy isn't doing well under him.

I started this thread because I suspect that the mainstream media has most people so brainwashed they aren't even considering the possibility that Donald Trump had a case.

He is a nut case...that's really the only case...until his second impeachment and removal from office. They can get him out and forever bar him from public office. Execution is an option if the case is for treason.

There are no easy fixes. Term limits leaves you without experienced legislators. It's also my way of getting rid of the representative you keep electing, and your way of getting rid of mine, which makes it rather undemocratic. I would be in favor of rules that kept an incumbent from using the power of his office to shut out competition, but I have no idea what such rules would be.

part of the hard problem is having/getting educated/thinking (vs indoctrinated) voters. I kind of like multi voting - you get 50 votes. Spend them as you like, 3 for anti abortion, 6 for gun rights, 4 for BLM, 1 for apple-pie. Each issue becomes a "party". You register to one party, a party has to have 100K members to be on the ticket with multiple candidates and they win seats based on number of votes cast for their party.

Anyway, we will never do anything like that, but I like the idea...

Yeah, figuring out how to make democracy work without letting it get too corrupt is tough. It is a tough problem for any form of government.. how to control power...

The fact is Trump personally said on national tv for the violence to stop and asked for the national guard to be dispatched to help quell the violence. Fact#2 a retired military commander said that many of the violent offenders were antifa per facial recognition software. And again you blame Trump for a lady losing her life which is false as proven by my first sentence. And lastly if you want a one party government why not move to N.K. where that is the only way. Checks and balances are gone for the U.S. for at least the next 4 years as the whole government is run by 1 party, Chinese communist party. Good luck with that.
The fact is Trump personally said on national tv f... (show quote)

The timeline of what trump did on Wednesday was he deliberately held a rally outside of the White House to rile up his cult followers and sent them to the Capital while he ran to hide in the White House and watch the destruction he had unleashed.

trump wouldn't call up the National Guard to reinforce the peacekeeping forces at the Capital Building, he was actually restricting them. The Secretary of the Defense refused to take calls. It was finally the Secretary of the Army who called the surrounding states to send in reinforcement troops.

trump recorded a message from outside of the White House, not from the Oval Office, which was a mixed message. First he said to stop the violence, then he egged them on in the same message.

Look at it this way, if the woman who was shot at the Capital hadn't been there because of the trump rhetoric for the last five and a half years, she wouldn't have lost her life because she was shot climbing in through a window she shouldn't have been breaching in the first place. So, yes trump was directly responsible for her death!

You have conveniently forgotten that the United States was run by a single party from January of 2017 to January of 2019, the GOP!

It's happened many times in the past that the United States has been run by a single party, and it will happen again in the future.

You have forgotten that there's a Mid-Term Election in 2022 which could swing the powers in Congress. I'm not going to predict which way it'll swing, but my hopes are that it will strengthen the Democratic hold on Congress, because the GOP proved that it can't be trusted to check a member of their own party because of their inaction against trump.

The will of the voters have spoken, and for the next two years, the United States will be run by the Democrats, and they've got a heck of a mess to clean up after the do nothing GOP refused to check the actions of the renegade trump.

As I predicted after trump was impeached a year ago, it looks like trump will be impeached again. The first president in the history of our country to be impeached twice, and in a single term in office. There are growing calls for trump to be removed from office via the 25th Amendment. The ramification of an Impeachment would be to prevent trump from ever holding a Federal Elected Office again, which would keep trump from running for any office including his planned run for president in 2024.

Actions have consequences, and the insurection which trump unleashed through his seditious speech at his rally in front of the White House on Wednesday was a violation of his Oath of Office.

trump has been unfit for office since he was elected, but the violence which trump unleashed upon one of the most sacred buildings in our country on Wednesday was unconscionable.

trump has been lying to his CULT followers for decades, and those lies culminated in the domestic terrorist attack on the US Capital on Wednesday.

Members of trump's cabinet are resigning since the trump coup attempt, likely because they don't want to face treason charges if they vote against the 25th Amendment.

Articles of Impeachment have alaready been written by one member of the House, it's just a matter of time before the House Judiciary Committee meets to draw up the official Atticles of Impeachment against trump. They'll be fast tracking the Impeachment because there's no time to lose. trump can't be trusted to run the country any longer because of his actions on Wednesday.

Never fear, they will be brought to justice.

Cell phone data will be their downfall!

The FBI is already working to sort out the cell phone data from in and around the Capital during the domestic terrorist attack. But it likely won't be until after Biden is sworn in when the real work gets done to track down and arrest the people who were involved. The trump sympothizers in the DOJ will need to be weeded out to ensure that the investigation actuallly files charges against everyone who was involved in the breach and property destruction at the US Capital.

Social Media posts will be gone through with a fine tooth comb and those who breached the Capital Building will be charged and prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Those who broke into the Capital Building face up to 20 years for just breaching the perimiter of the building. Any property damage done will only add to the length of sentence they're handed.

That's what happens when you don't think about the consequences of your actions, and what they could result in when you're part of an out of control mob.

I don't understand your invocation of god into the charged political drama that's currently playing out. Perhaps you don't realize that god occupies alternate reality also.
