Jai Alia is the answer, but there really isn't a good reason to not play it left handed. It isn't the left handed individuals fault that the right handed monarch was incompetent and got hit in the head.

I was thinking fencing. Thanks

I can't find anything in fencing rules that say right handed only, but that doesn't mean it isn't there, it just means I couldn't find it. It would certainly be awkward to fence left handed, but I can't find it in the rules.

Jai Alai it is definitely against the rules to play left handed.

In the “Princess Bride”, Westley, as the dred pirate Roberts, fences left-handed.

In college, Marymount College, Tarrytown NY (no longer in existence), I took fencing classes (1966-1970). I held the sword in my left hand. En garde!!

As well as polo. There are no left-handed polo players.

I tried fencing, and being left-handed seemed natural, but I don't ever recall seeing any prohibitions on lefties. I do recall seeing left-handers in the Olympics.

Right handed swordsmen had a disadvantage when attacking up a spiral castle staircase, because they had their sword close to the inside wall while the defenders above had more room to wield their swords in the larger space to their right. Left handed attackers balanced out that advantage. All spiral staircases were built so that traffic went clockwise going up for the security of the inhabitants.

There are 32 million left handed people in the United States. Do you lefties find that using right handed and right eyed cameras ackward? How have you coped? Has anyone ever manufactured a left-handed camera?

I'm left handed, which has not been a problem, but am also left eyed which is a problem using an SLR or DSLR camera. Fortunately, I worked mostly with TLR's and 4x5's prior to digital so that wasn't a problem. Now, Live View makes life much easier.

By "left-eyed" do you mean the vision in your left eye is better Than the right? The diopter in the camera viewfinder should correct for †hat.

I can't remember which eye was better prior to my cataract surgery 8-9 nears ago, but my left eye has been dominant my entire life, regardless of which had the best vision. I tried a couple of times to learn to use my right eye with the camera, but it just didn't feel natural. It's a little like a right hander trying to throw left handed, just doesn't feel right or natural.

When folks refer to "left-eyed" or right-eyed" they're referring to the dominant eye. As mentioned in previous posts, most people are right-eye dominant, even though some are left-handed. I'm one individual who is right-eye dominant, but left-handed. I discovered this in high school when I was trying to qualify with the .22 rifle in Junior ROTC. I was shooting left-handed, but not getting a satisfactory target picture. In reality I was trying to aim with my right eye, shouldering the rifle with my left side. My instructor, an expert rifle and pistol shot, took me aside and conducted a very simple test. He handed me a paper towel core, asked me to hold with both hands, and raise the core to the center of my bridge. The very first time, I automatically moved the core slightly toward my right eye. Several attempts rendered the same results. Bingo, left-handed, right-eye dominant. I changed shooting stances to right-handed, and have shot well since then. There are more sophisticated tests, but you get my drift.

BTW - And in the department of trivial facts, there are rifles custom built to accommodate such variances. The rifle stock has a huge curve near the wrist. Very odd, but functional.
