There are 32 million left handed people in the United States. Do you lefties find that using right handed and right eyed cameras ackward? How have you coped? Has anyone ever manufactured a left-handed camera?

I think they simply learn to use it the way everyone else uses them. It's like learning to shake hands. Everyone does it right handed and once you learn to do it right handed it will be second nature to do it that way.

My big problem is with the touch screen in my iPad mini.
The buttons are on the left side of the screen. As my hand approaches the screen from the left side, I hit those buttons. “Darn, how did I get here?” Apple has no way to move them to the right side.
With my Canon G1 m3 I don’t have problems.
Now, when I played violin in 4th grade a guy bowing the opposite way was a hazard.

I am.
I adapted.
I’m right-eye dominant, thankfully.
I bowl left-handed, golf right, was a switch-hitter in baseball and threw right handed.
And yes, Exakta made cameras with the wind and shutter on the left side, leaving the supposedly more critical operation of focusing to the right hand.

so I shoot left handed

Why did you switch hit? Left handed batters have an advantage, two steps closer to first.

A camera is a lot less awkward for left handers than a lot of other tools are. Skill saws put sawdust into the eyes of anyone trying to cut a straight line using their left hand. My dad tried to teach me to hunt using a lever action 30-30 It ejected shells into my nose and face. I still flinch when I shoot, so no, I don't find a camera to be a particular problem.

I'm left handed, and at times I have had a problem with tools, or right-handed desks in school, but it never occurred to me I needed a left handed camera. I don't have any problem with standard cameras.

I am right handed and I would have problem doing many things left handed. However, if they make the camera reversed I think it would be fine for me because the controls on a camera don't require manual dexterity like writing.

I use my left eye. I shoot a rifle left handed. But I am right handed.. So, using a camera is just something you must learn. Life ain't all ways easy. Stick shifts are right sided.

I'm an extreme lefty but cameras haven't been a problem. My iPhone, though, puts the photos upside down when I hold it so I can touch the shutter release with my left thumb. Disobliging technology! Haha. But I found a work-around: you can also take pics by pushing the volume control buttons. Yay, maybe there was a lefty on the design team!

I usually did.
And we’re already facing first after we hit the ball.
My trouble now is locating a left-handed metric adjustable crescent wrench. They are pretty scarce! Not found by the elbow grease at the hardware stores anymore.

Guns right-handed, use motorized tools with right, snooker, billiards right. Knives and other manual cutting, wrenches ambidextrous, bowling left... violin, trumpet and flying right. Pretty amazing how we lefties are adaptable! Right-eyed, so cameras have never been a problem. Happy New Year.

I am left handed and don’t have a problem using a camera. I throw left handed, but swing a baseball bat, an ax or paddle a canoe right handed. I also shoot left handed, but I can also shoot a handgun right handed.

I’m a lefty. Never gave camera use a thought. When I was a youngster, my grandad made me me pound nails right handed. He was a carpenter and said when I grew up and had my own house I’d need to be able to use some tools right handed. He was right. Wise advice.
