It's an international forum and many may not know English very well. For me if I can understand the post it doesn't matter.
Marge, my late, dear departed, english teacher AUNT was a stickler for correct grammar. At the age of 86, which I am now, I still remember the childhood correction she gave me: "the word is aunt, not the creature that crawls on the ground, the ant".

In that case wouldn’t she correct you for using NEPA instead of northeast Pennsylvania?

It is neither your place or responsibility to correct someone's grammar on this site. To do so publically is also extremely rude, and makes you appear to be an intellectual elite. If I have made a grammatical error in this post feel free to ignore it.
“ if you want to correct someone’s grammar and just can’t hold back send them a PM and do it in private”
Do it that way and you will often receive a “thank you” for having mentioned it in private!
Amen!

Thankfully this is America and the opinion of others, besides yourself, matter too. I support OOM, Other Opinions Matter. If you don't like grammar corrections then go to another forum. Now, see how easy that was.

Hi Dennis, I thought it was the internet and all were welcome. Many on here are not from America. I have visited the US and think it is wonderful place and I met many great people there.
Why do you feel it necessary to correct someones post for grammar? Are they taking a class from you? Are you their teacher? Was their grammar so bad, that you where unable to understand their post? The only reason I can see for corrections like that, are your need to feel superior.
Ain't make none difference 2 me

The majority of the grammatical errors are typos. In the greater scheme of things these typos are inconsequential and not worth worrying about. There are a number of members on the Hog who have English as a second language so they are not perfect with their grammar skills. If I can understand the post it's no big deal.

Hmmm, very interesting! Since you are so hellbent on the use of correct grammar, I wonder why you don't seem to consider punctuation and capitalization to be important.
I think it is very arrogant and impolite to correct anyone's grammar, or spelling or punctuation! This forum has people from all walks of life, and many are from foreign countries and struggle with our complex language.
Email has changed our punctuation and sentence structure considerably, and typing causes many errors.
I definitely agree that if you cannot be kind when making corrections, you should be blocked.
This is a photography forum. We are here to learn PHOTOGRAPHY! Oh, yes, I was an English major in college!

Quite right. If grammar is so bad one of average intelligence can't understand it, it may need clarified. Otherwise, corrections are probably not appropriate on an internet forum.
