in many years. This was a partly cloudy day. I set up and started shooting around 1 p.m. D5500, Sigma 10-20mm, Sigma 17-70mm and Nikkor 70-300mm. Some shots hand-held, others using my monopod.
The cloud was intermittently blocking the Sun and the lighting was changing dramatically from one minute to the next.
It was quite windy, so the plume generated by the Horseshoe Falls was more disperse than on calmer days, but the water around Horseshoe Falls was quite choppy, and the clouds quite ominous from time to time.
The tour boat appears to be climbing uphill because of the oblique angle of the wide-angle lens.
All shots from the Canadian side.
Note the change in lighting as clouds occlude the Sun and as the Sun drops lower in the sky - most noticeable in the last two shots.
The gull was obstructing a view I wanted - it stubbornly refused to go anywhere, so I shot it!
I returned about 10 days later on a sunny day - I will post those soon. There were hardly any visitors to Niagara Falls, most of the shops and attractions were closed, which made for less jostling to get a good shooting location.
