Going by my brother's younger years ... yeah that could be a possibility.

No. That limitted a gene pool would result in too many abnormalities. Plus ,from a species survival standpoint 2 parents could not produce enough offspring to insure species longevity. The human gestation length is too long, and the very limitted female fertility age it is just not possible.

Hi Sam, yes I do have blue eyes but neither my mother or father had blue eyes.

As I understand it, your parents inherited the gene from one of their parents so didn't have blue eyes, nevertheless they carried the gene.

My wife and I have green eyes, two of our kids have blue eyes and two have brown. Anyone know the biological explanation?

Blue eyes is a recessive gene. Both parents must have the gene for their offspring to have blue eyes.

That is not true. My father had blue eyes but my mother had brown eyes and I have blue eyes. I had five siblings: an older sister with hazel eyes; two younger sisters with blue eyes; a younger sister with brown eyes; and a younger brother with blue eyes. Also, both parents were brunettes. I am brunette as was my youngest sister. My older sister had red hair. Two younger sisters have blonde hair as does my younger brother.

Genetics get complicated and when you look at recessives and dominants it can get totally confusing.
