What are the concrete structures and their use around the waterfall in number 7?

I am not really sure Richard, it had me a bit perplexed also, it is very rare that you see some construction elements along the water courses. There is a black pipe to the left, so possibly they dammed the creek and installed a mini-powerplant, possibly no longer operating. But is just a guess, I really don't have an answer.

Thank you Doug for your kind comment. I assume those black lines in the last one are sandbanks, I did like the contrast they provide and so included this shot. Joe

Thank you very much Jim, I am glad to hear we are moving in the right direction as to the type of images you like - the sunshine just lightens up the mood and luckily, it will be with us for most of the remainder of the tour. Joe

This set covers a drive of about 50 km / 30 miles from my Nupugardar farmstay to the Lon plain and lagoon, considered by some to be one of Icelands most beautiful areas. If you check out the map with the first link below, you can see that we are getting close to the northeasternmost section of Iceland and indeed my daytrip will go all the way to Eglisstadir from where the route starts turning west. But I will present this one-day drive in a few sections over the coming days. The Lon Lagoon is not specially marked on my map, but it is at the end of the first arc when I again reached the ocean after Höfn.

Thank you very much MT for your appreciation of this shots - the beauty is really inherent in the land, I was just lucky to be there at the right moment to take these shots! Joe
- and yes, I was having fun once the sun came out!

Beautiful views, Joe! I guess, you really have to see this beauty with your own eyes to appreciate its powerful might! Very well done, Joe. Keep on posting!
