Switching systems is but one reason to sell. Many sell their present gear to finance an upgrade, some may find that a particular lens or camera model doesn't suit their needs, etc. I wouldn't assume that every seller is buying a different brand.

Could simply be upgrading.

Maybe you are noticing Nikon because it's the brand by which everyone else is measured. Is it as good as Nikon? Well, no. Then don't buy it!

We've had similar questions before. Lots of people have Nikons, and they tend to upgrade. Out with the old and in with the new. There's nothing wrong with Nikon cameras.

Depends on the day you look at the sales. Some days all Canon other days Sony or Nikon. A lot of sales are due to shooters moving up to newer equipment.

Actually, since I moved to Sony, I watch for Sony in the ads, and it is one of the least sold brands. Sometimes a lens or a older model camera, but not so much as Nikon for sure.

What is the OP intention of asking the question?

Stating why you like one brand over another is perfectly fine but throwing cheap shots at the other brands and the people who own those other brands is IMO an immature act and certainly not the route to making friends or gaining respect. I think most will agree that Nikon, Canon, Sony and several other manufacturers produce excellent cameras.

You have to figure how long Nikon has been selling cameras vs long Sony has been doing that. There are more Nikon owners with more cameras than Sony owners and cameras.

Not trying to enflame a war of words, but watching the classified section I'm amazed that so much more Nikon equipment is being resold even though they don't have the total sales of Canon. Are people less satisfied?

Depending on what's selling it could be that Nikon DSLR owners finally have a decent selection of mirrorless cameras to choose from. Nikon had fallen behind in the technology race and is finally catching up.

why do people keep putting a “e” on lens. Am I wrong in the spelling?

If they didn't, what would you have to post about?

Got an opinion on the topic being discussed?

Of all the things that are important, this is so unimportant it's ridiculous.
