We're already to September, where do you stand?

Did you change from JPEG+RAW to just RAW?
Did you sell the equipment you didn't even use in 2019?
Did you keyword all your legacy images?
Did you replace that flimsy tripod?
Did you watch at least 5 training videos for the software you bought?
Did you create a back-up of your images?
Did you start culling more aggressively?
Did you share more images on social media?
Did you shoot off of auto?
Did you change to mirrorless?
Did you use that prime lens?
Did you buy some film?

Did you change from JPEG+RAW to just RAW? No! Still shoot JPEG+RAW

Did you sell the equipment you didn't even use in 2019? No! I keep all the equipment I didn't use in a long time

Did you keyword all your legacy images? No! No keyword for images.

Did you replace that flimsy tripod? No! But my tripod isn't flimsy. It's a Bogen #3035. It's old and heavy but not flimsy.

Did you watch at least 5 training videos for the software you bought? No! Didn't buy any.

Did you create a back-up of your images? No! I do not create back up. I do make multiple copies of my images and store them in different places.

Did you start culling more aggressively? No! I keep them all. Not that many any way.

Did you share more images on social media? No! I don't share on social media.

Did you shoot off of auto? No! I rarely shoot auto to begin with.

Did you change to mirrorless? No! I have them mirrorlesss.

Did you use that prime lens? Yes! I use mostly prime lenses.

Did you buy some film? Yes! I bought some. Didn't shoot any though.

Gee, I see you rattled a few cages with that one.
Not sure why, I don't mind pleading guilty to #2 & #8

Still on my own 2 legs.

Did you change from JPEG+RAW to just RAW?
Never was a jpeg but had a raw flesh every now and then.

Did you sell the equipment you didn't even use in 2019?
Why do you ask? do you want to buy them? I got a dead jeep.

Did you keyword all your legacy images?
No one in their right mind keywords an album & wall hanging photos.

Did you replace that flimsy tripod?
No, i just give orders and we use a bipod.

Did you watch at least 5 training videos for the software you bought?
The training videos i made myself?

Did you create a back-up of your images?
They are called clones and are my minions.

Did you start culling more aggressively?
Nope, its still illegal to shoot bad people.

Did you share more images on social media?
Not my job either.

Did you shoot off of auto?
You need to be in the force to shoot auto or have a special permit.
Mine is just autoloading although they still call it assault anyways...shees

Did you change to mirrorless?
I'm not that ugly.

Did you use that prime lens?
If you use it, it wont be prime anymore. Got to keep it in the sealed box.

Did you buy some film?
Told ya i just give orders. Besides, still got a lot of clingwrap in the kitchen.

Now move on bugger somewhere else...

Ohh wait, they're your photography goals. Still at it eh? Goodluck!

Well, I scored around 75-80%. I was pretty happy that I was able to reduce my unused equipment this year. In my photo gear as well as other items around the household, I adopted the attitude that if it has not been used in 6 months or longer it was going to be sold, traded or given to charity. It is amazing how good it feels to get rid of items that is doing nothing more than taking up space. In some cases, it added cash to my pocket.

Like others here also, my wife and I have resisted the urge to get out any more than necessary so as to stay healthy. Grocery shopping and drug stores are our big days out.

My wife and I go to Sun n Fun almost every year and were greatly disappointed this year when it was canceled. We living very close to Lakeland and were going to go several times over the week. Our plans had included trying to include Oshkosh also, but hopefully next year will be better.

Presuming this is more for introspection than actual sharing, thanks for bringing this up, Paul. I got a bad case of "COVID Apathy" and mostly spent my time isolating and lamenting my cancelled plans. Should definitely have used my time more productively, as per your list here. As they say in baseball, "There's always next year."

Thank you for the reminder. 3 out of 12 you mentioned, I did not do (yet)
1. Jpeg + RAW to RAW only. I know the combination is a memory eater but it is easier to fast check the Jpeg before discarding my poor shots. I use 256g X2 cards every time I go out so that should be sufficient then I download the images to my Sandisk 2T SSD external drive. Upgrading to 3T when the price go down.

2. Film? I have not even dared to use it since my kids graduated from HS. I'm now in my 60s.
3. Culling my collection? I'll do it when I retire.

I'm not too bad on the list... only film I use will likely be scanned slides from years ago though...
Overall I don't like to add gear much so mirrorless will be unlikely in the immediate future.

This whole thing has managed to squelch my ability to travel though. I have traveled a lot over the last 6-7 years. More focus on local by necessity as well as the grandkids who are close by and challenging.

I added a Canon R with a 24-240mm lens to my DSLR collection. I enjoy it for travel but I still use my 1DX Mk2 and 5D Mk4 for my portrait work. I also added my first prime (85mm 1.2 L) and I LOVE it. I hesitated to get the prime lens at first because I know how to create bokeh with my 70-200 2.8, plus I didn’t want to “zoom with my feet”. However, it has become my favorite lens in my collection!
