Stay safe doing that Elliot. vz

All are great pictures, the last being the best. In it I see a great advertisement for a great saw, that for sure has seen a lot cutting and still cutting.

Excellent shots, obviously the guy knew what he was doing. I live in a Winter Texasan Resort that has about fortuy acres or so and all of our lawn care equipment was Stihl except the mowers. They were Snapper. Stihl at that time didn't have a zero turn mower. But Stihl is very reliable, a little spendy but reliable

Thanks tramsey. I was a pleasure to watch and photograph. vz

My dad had quite a few jobs during his lifetime but I believe his favorite was working in timber. Also his Winter's source of heat was a wood burning furnace in the basement. In 2004 when my dad was 88 years old we siblings had that furnace ripped out and a gas furnace put in. He really missed his wood heat but we felt at 88 he had no business in the woods alone with a chain saw.

Thanks JR for looking in and commenting. Being in the woods with a chainsaw at 88 years old is pushing it. vz

I rented a STIHL once, just keeps going.

The older ones are great machines, the new ones not so much unless you get a pro model. Thanks tcthome for looking in and commenting. vz

Nice shots, Erik. What those kinds of guys can do with a big tree is amazing to me. I have a pole saw and a 14”, but I’m not interested in doing the big work. That’s for the professionals.

Indeed leave the big stuff to the pros. They have the equipment, knowledge and youth. Thanks John for looking in and commenting. vz

Thanks troutbum. On of the workers had set his saw down on this stump and I thought it made a good image. vz

Nice images, vz. I had cousins who did that for a living. I had no desire to get hired on.

This is definitely a job for the young and strong. I had a Stihl chainsaw for years and it felled many huge trees for me in Maine. I wisely didn't bring it to Florida. Now I hire some expert young guy to prune my live oaks with their extremely heavy, dense wood.

Nice set of photos by the way.

Thanks very much Hereford. You just can't do everything yourself and have to call in the pros from time to time. You are the second responder to this thread that left a Stihl behind when moving so as not to be tempted to use it again. vz

Yes definitely. Neat to see how they do it!
Thanks

Back in 2010, we had 3 unruly Live Oak Trees taken down by a Tree Service. Certainly not a job for a do-it-yourselfer!

To create the collage below, I used the http://makephotogallery.net/ program which Jerryc41 just gave us today. Nice little online app! Thanks, Jerry.
