Within the past few weeks, I've had two very positive experiences with Samsung Tech support and Customer Service. 1) They replaced a faulty 1 TB EVO 850 with an EVO 860 and it arrived in two days. 2) They fixed a 7 yr. old 65 inch Smart TV within 1.5 days - done remotely - the Netflix app was corrupted. I'm a very happy Samsung user!! They get my vote. Good for you, Jerry! Happy to hear the old Vizio is back.

Samsung has an 85" for $3 grand. You could watch THAT from across the street ....
You'd HAVE to watch it from across the street.
buy direct from the Vizio website better prices than found in store and free shipping to your home.

Many credit card companies will extend the warranty to two years if you purchase the appliance with their card. I had my TV fail just short of two years and my credit card company covered the cost of the unit less the tax. Check your cards for extended warranties.

Don't sell yourself short. Once you have a larger screen, you will be glad you didn't choose the smaller one.
I was looking at 55" I settled on a 65" and love it. I have room and wish I had chosen the 75".
If your eyes don't/can't see the difference between brands, then buy what you want.
Visio, LG & Samsung are the most popular brands. LG has an OLED model that is exceptional.
OLED is the up and coming technology but it is still a few years away from being reasonably affordable.
I have been a SONY person since 1966. I have a 2 year old 65" SONY XBR that is stunning.
I got it on a weekend special for less than $2K.
Consider
Costco or Sam's Club. No pressure or salesman. Just pick the one you want.
I only deal with Fry's or Best Buy as a last resort, and then it is under duress.

Glad your TV came back! If you ever are in the market for a new Visio, Costco usually has a variety of them at good prices. Visio also makes some good soundbars (also at Costco).

Sounds like maybe you needed an exorcist, do you live near a chicken farm?
Perhaps it was a poultryghost that caused it?

The other TV is a Vizio, so I want another similar one so the remotes will work on both.
Jerry, to overcome the multiple remotes situation, I recommend getting a Harmony Remote, which is one remote that takes the place of multiple remotes from various electronic manufacturers. There are many different models. I have the Harmony 650 Remote and it is wonderful. You program this one device from your computer to the various components you have, like TV, receiver, FIOS box, games, etc., and with one button turn on and off ALL devices for a specific function at one time. The price for such is all over the map...I have seen them listed from $30.00 to $200.00...go figure.
Got a 55" Vizio about 2 years ago for about $500. Really like it Jerry.

Just bought an LG 50" smart TV, 2020 model, from Walmart.com for $278.99 + tax delivered to house (3 days) Very happy. Have had a 43" LG for 2 years still like new even tho most watched in house. There is an other 50" LG on Walmart around $400 but I cannot see any difference in picture. You might want to check it out.

I purchased a 39” Vizeo about 20 years ago. It’s in my bedroom and continues to provide me with a wonderful picture. Whereas my LG has failed me after less than two years and my 5-year old Samsung is on the way out.

That's good to hear! I made the right choice. Thanks
