My personal favorite was Bartolo Colon's home run, which was his first at the age of 42.
Which also made him the oldest pitcher to hit a home run.
His trot around the bases took something like and hour to complete...lol just kidding, it was more like 30 seconds.
He is one of my favorite pitchers of all time....he just always seemed to truly always be having fun playing the game, as it should be as it is just a game.

Tom

That’s a good choice👍
It definitely didn’t have the impact the others had but it sure was fun to watch😊

That’s a great choice.
It didn’t have the drama like the others but it sure was fun to watch😊

In that case, I guess I should suggest every home run ever hit by Ernie {"Beautiful Day for 2"} Banks.

Carlton Fisk 1975 World Series. Red Sox vs. Reds.

That belongs on the list just for the body language. But we can’t forget Bernie Carbo’s 3 run shot (in the eight inning?) that tied the game.

With baseball season finally beginning, how about a list of the greatest home runs of all time. Here are three to start the list.

Bobby Thompson's home run to win the pennant for the Giants

Babe Ruth calls his shot (whether he really did or not)

Kirk Gibson's home run in the first game of the '88 world series

Roger's *61st. I was there selling hot dogs in the centerfield bleachers. The stands were mostly empty; the Yanks had already clinched the pennant.

I was deeply disappointed by the way recent "sluggers" pursued The Count.
At least your asterisk stands for "had a few more games than Ruth did".

How about Ross Barnes of the 1876 Chicago White Stockings, now Cubs, who hit the first in a major league game?

Excellent the Bartolo Colon home run trivia. I’m also a big fan of the Bernie Carbo 3 run jack which brought the Red Sox back from the dead in 75 (which there would be no Carlton Fisk walk off). Maybe the most memorable 2 homers in a game ever

Both Mantle and Maris breaking Ruth’s record. The whole country was following and anticipating.

Absolutely true, but my impression was the topic was about singular events.

Maris broke Ruth's record, Mantle did not. Mantle did however, once hit a homer that traveled 565 feet

Wasn’t Gibson’s home run the last game? The series winner?
