Has anybody heard anything about Earl Keese (posts as Dook). My last contact was before Xmas when he told me he was going to be hospitalized. Asked me to hold up on the e-mails (we were frequent corresponders). Now his e-mail address has been taken down. I fear the worst but pray that I am wrong.
Unfortunately he has passed away.
Damn, my worst fears realized. How did you find out, if I may ask?
That saddens me. We had some conversations (email) over the last year or so. Mostly dealing with drones. He sent me some really good videos of the coast near where he lived in Australia taken with his Phantom P4 Pro. He was truly a good man. Here's a funny story that you may have heard. He bought an RC model truck (one with the big tires) and rigged a DJI Osmo to it. I saw a few of his videos. The only problem was that the thing was too damn fast. I think he intended to just ride along the coast and film. If you ever tried one of those RC models they can't really go slow. You're either stopped or wide open. And they turn on a dime. Add the Osmo and you have a high center of gravity. Keeping one of those things upright is hard enough without the Osmo. I imagine the Osmo spent a fair amount of time in the sand or skidding along the pavement.
Thank you my friend. I have been off the Hog for quite awhile so did not see that post. He will be truly missed. RIP Earl.
Yea, I forgot I saw that, and luckily it turned up on a search.
Sad...
I am glad, but sad, that you did. I have a lot of his music and drone photos and we had a lot of correspondence back and forth over the years. He never mentioned being ill until his final e-mail to me and he did not mention cancer. We even spoke on the phone one time when he called me from his home in McLean. RIP Earl.
Thanks again for digging up this info for me.
