After taking some pictures, I noticed after looking through them that there was a vertical black line in the middle. After uploading them on the computer, they were not there. How can I get rid of it from showing on the camera screen? Thank you!

It's your screen Richard. Sounds like a row display ion's are not working. Personally I would call the camera manufacture.
But, since it is not on the images themselves. For now I would not trouble yourself, UNLESS, the camera is still under warranty. If it is, get it in right away.

What would such a picture show you that would help diagnose the problem? Maybe I'm missing something, but I can visualize a black line without seeing a picture.

It was kind of a joke. If you remember Rube Goldberg, it was suggested in his honor. I know we're living in tough times, but hang onto your sense of humor.

A couple of these would have been a good clue.

These would have been better.

Be well!

Sounds like a column of dead pixels on the preview screen.

Or, worse case, get used to it. All of Ansel Adams' iconic images were composed upside down.

Had a similar problem on my FZ1000's screen, except it wasn't 1 line but more like a histogram on the righthand side. Caused by forgetting to close the LCD screen (hard back out) and it bumping against the zipper pull hook on my kangaroo pocket jacket. $225 lesson learned as had to have screen replaced. Very frustrating as I rarely use the LCD, but the one time ...
