After taking some pictures, I noticed after looking through them that there was a vertical black line in the middle. After uploading them on the computer, they were not there. How can I get rid of it from showing on the camera screen? Thank you!

If they are not in the image but you see them in review, they could be a problem in the camera display. Try removing the battery, let the system reset, or perhaps reloading the camera firmware, then call for a repair.

ALL pictures viewed on the camera screen?
Or just recent shots.
New screen?
<submit for repair>
<new screen control logic>
<factory reset camera>

Please post an example. It could be a rolling shutter artifact?

He said it was only on the rear display, not in the image.

Sounds like a string in the display array, memory for the array, or the display array controller.
I'd send the camera in if a master reset doesn't fix it.

I don't know if it is still true, but friends of mine that shot Canon would develop the problem. They were told that the rear screen was actually two individual LCDs side by side that could get out of alignment. Canon was always able to fix it.

With any question like this, you MUST send in one or more sample images and click the "download" checkbox when you attach the images. Without them we are completely in the dark about what advice to give you.

What good would a picture do? He said the line only appears on the LCD screen, not in the viewfinder nor in the images. I realize some folks just say this out of habit, but in this case I can't figure how it would help.

You are right. I jumped too soon, but upon further thought he could always take a photo of the LCD screen with another camera with a macro lens (or his phone). Easy to do on a tabletop. Sometimes you gotta think outside the box.

What would such a picture show you that would help diagnose the problem? Maybe I'm missing something, but I can visualize a black line without seeing a picture.
