In your own opinion, which Sony DSLR you think is the best deal for the money?.

I don't know. At the time of introduction (2008) I thought the A900 was the best deal. It was one of 2 cameras that had 24MP. Price at $3000 it had almost the same features as the other 24MP camera at the time the Nikon D3X which priced at near $9000. But today the A900 holds its price well in the used market while the D3X does not.
Sorry I can't recommend one for you. I do know that you want to get a body to go with the lens.

Personally I would not own a DSLR again. There are so many things that my Sony A99ii, and a7 series as well as a6000 series do so much better and easier than a DSLR. But to each his own.

What about the lenses for the A mount. They fit perfectly in DSLR cameras. You need an adapter for the A7 and 6 series.

True but I personally own a a99ii and it is A-mount. I regularly use my 20yr old Minolta-Maxima A-mount lenses on the a99ii and with a sony adapter on my e-mount cameras without a problem.

I came across a super deal at the flea market. A sigma 150-500 with a Sony A350 for $300.00 is this a good set for wildlife?. The guy called the lens Sigmamonster the lens is huge. My question to the experts here is which camera will better with this lens. It will be nice to hear from any DSLR owners.

The sigma 150-500 when new did not have a good reputation for quality images, the Sony A350 is a 14 meg camera and is, in my opinion, overpriced.

I have several older Sony bodies (A-300 from a bit earlier, A37 and A58, both a little later) All 4 work well, still take great pics, the in body stabilization keeps them relevant, and just flat out works. The lens is a decent lens for it's intended use. If he is moving, make an offer...even though they are older models, they will make fine photos if you do your part. The fun thing about Sony A-mount bodies (besides the internal stabilization that will work on even the oldest, clunkiest lenses) is the huge amount of very nice lenses that work with the system, and the costs are very reasonable. All the wonderful old Minolta offerings, and many fine 3rd party lenses. Good luck and have fun..

I have several full Nikon DSLR systems, but my Sony/Minolta gear still brings me joy and get's used often.

I have the Tamron version of the 150-600 (with an a77) - not quite the same - but after using a focus target for the first time and microadjusting it's crystal clear. If I hadn't already paid (last year) for a trip to Spain in June for my birthday, I'd probably upgrade to an a77ii or an a99ii. Tour company hasn't yet cancelled that far in advance (currently through April) but I'm not sure there's that much hope. My niece was doing a semester abroad in Ecuador and they're sending her home early (today or tomorrow) so she can't finish her studies.

đź‘ŤAll my Minolta Maxxum glass works fine on my a99V. A nice modest jump to digital.

I disagree the Sony A 350 is still a functional decent camera....maybe this guy would consider a 64 corvette almost worthless also. The point to me is that at one time ....yes a few years back this was a top of the line camera, I question whether all the bells and whistles on the newer cameras are needed for the average photog out there do you really think you are going to make hour long videos, do you even make videos and how large of a print will you make if 8x10 is as large as you go the A350 is fine, lots of lenses at good prices! Just my 2 cents worth, the camera is a tool and a lot of how well the tool works depends on the operator!

That camera was when Sony made DSLRs that was a crop sensor. In A-Mount. I first saw that camera at a Sears Store a decade or so ago. 14 megapixels was a lot back then.. I don't know much about the Sigma 150-500mm lens. But, a very popular lens for wildlife, is the Nikon 200-500mm. And, according to some uhh members, it works great on a Nikon crop sensor D500. Sony discontinued DSLRs and decided to go to the Translucent Mirror type cameras, A-Mount, and later the E-Mount mirrorless cameras.

Here's one pic I took at Oshkosh last July at 600mm, 1/1250 sec (Tamron 150-600) on an a77. slightly enhanced (saturation, sharpness,, lighting)
