I came across a super deal at the flea market. A sigma 150-500 with a Sony A350 for $300.00 is this a good set for wildlife?. The guy called the lens Sigmamonster the lens is huge. My question to the experts here is which camera will better with this lens. It will be nice to hear from any DSLR owners.

Sony's current cameras are digital mirrorless, not 'reflex' cameras. The terminology is MILC - Mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera.

The a350 dates back to 2008 at 14MP as a DSLR. A camera of that age and resolution sounds greatly overpriced at $300. Although, the lens alone at that price would be a good price.

The best A mount camera for the lens is likely the Alpha 77 II. It is 24 mp and a great camera. Sony has an A Mount full frame but I would not spend $3500 to use with an unknown cheap lens.

Whether the camera is mirrorless or not is irrelevant.

No, the sale is $300 for both the camera and the lens.

I once had the Sony A57 which came before the A65, and it was a good camera. I have only mirrorless bodies now, but the A57 did take good pictures.

There are lots of Minolta AF lens available used that would work well with the A65. I have about a dozen of them.

The point of Paul’s good advice is that the camera is basically worthless so you are buying a lens.

nice pick up. Try it and see how you like it. Not sure if the Sigma is a DX lens. Your top end Sony APS-C camera is the a77ii. But if if you want top image quality then go for the a99ii. It is full frame and will shoot DX lenses as "super35" It also has image stabilization. On the other end of the scale you could opt for a a6000 and Sony LA-EA2 or LA-EA3 adapter. But the a6500 will have image stabilization. Or the a6600 will have full image stabilization and the superfast focus of the A9ii. But for about the same price as the a6600 you can get the FF a7iii. It does everything the a6600 but is full frame. Like most Sony FF cameras it will convert DX image to super35. I never had the Sony 350 but had A57 and then a A65. Both were good image producers. Happy shooting

My friend have the A6500 with the L2 adapter, and the Sigmamonster worked without any issues. It worked on the A6000, but it was in manual mode only. I will keep your feedback in mind for the future.

The a350 would be a great go camera in lousy conditions where you don't want to risk your good camera.

Top Sony DSLR is the A900. It's not all that great now but still have 24MP. The A99 is not a DSLR.

You are right the camera is not worth much, but the lens it self was the deal. The guy just wanted to get rid of them nothing wrong. He was moving out the state.

No Sony doesn't make DSLR any more. The A99 and A99 II as Sony calls them SLT because they have a semi transparent mirror that reflect light upward but only for the AF sensors. The viewfinder is electronic. They did that only because back at that time they couldn't make the phase detect AF sensor on the imaging sensor.

In your own opinion, which Sony DSLR you think is the best deal for the money?.
