I don't know ... thinking about it.
Right now I own a Fuji X100F and a Nikon D7000. I have thought about upgrading to either the D7500 or the D500. Never thought about Full Frame cameras as my lenses are all DX. Nikon 35 and 85 prime, an 18-140 zoom, an 18-300 zoom and a Tokina 11-16 wide zoom. I'm thinking about selling it all and going to a Sony a7RIII with the kit lens 28-70 which covers just about everything I shoot. Price and the fact I'm so invested in Nikon is what is holding me back.
My question is I like the Nikons but I love the Fuji as my point and shoot camera, most times in automatic and shooting jpeg. I shoot raw with the Nikon. Should I keep the Fuji or let it go with the Nikon gear?
I'm sure more than one person here has made the transition to Sony, I would like to hear your thoughts.
I use both Canon and Sony, but the Sony bridge camera I bought is my go-to for almost everything since I do not have to bring any other lenses if I am going somewhere. I have a point and shoot Canon that I also use. My Canon gets dragged out for macro work. I think the hardest is trying to remember where all the settings are and default changes and which batteries go with which. Therefore I rely on my Sony for quicker responses when I need that. I even use my expensive Google phone, but do not like it as much.
What I probably should have said is that you will rely on the one you like the most over time.
If I wasn't 15 to 20 grand deep in Nikon equipment I would make the switch.. Heck I still might. Mirrorless is the future and Nikon is not at the top in that field. Switch while it is still affordable.

I also would like to go full frame from my D7100 and have a good collection of lens which causes concern. Nikon may not be at the top of the field now but I read this past week that rumor has it that there will be a replacement to the Z6 and Z7 possibly by the end of the year. I think their second generation may make me sorry if I were to switch away from Nikon now. The Z series lens is expanding and they have a lens I think it was 24 - 200 that would meet my every need at the present time.

Compared to the D7000, the D7500 is on the same level in the
high end category. And the D500 is one level lower, in the
advanced category. If it is upgrading that you want to do, then the D800 model series or above is where you want to look. With the D7500 or D500, you would certainly get a newer camera, but not an actual upgrade from the D7000.

No.
Nikon calls the D500 it's flagship DX camera.
(the best or most important)The D7500 is an "enthusiast" level, one down, but still an awesome camera.
https://www.nikonusa.com/en/nikon-products/dslr-cameras/dx.pageMenus and buttons on the D500 closely resemble those found on full-frame pro cameras.
Have you considered the Z50? Let’s you stay in the Nikon ecosystem, and I believe you can use your existing lenses with the adapter. Most reviews are very positive.
If you go the Sony route instead of the kit go with a Tamron 28-75 2.8

I sold over $18K of Nikon equipment and went to a Sony a7III. My total investment in cameras right now is only abt $4K. This is the sony and a couple of lenses, and a sony r100 vii. I can do everything that the Nikon system did, with less weight to carry around. I find that I get more keepers with the Sony a7 than I did with my d810. I have taken to travel with the sony and a tamron 28-75 and it does most everything. for the few times I want more or less lens, I walk back or forward. I think that many of us make more of our hobby than it needs. We don't really need every focal length in the world. I agree that there is a personal satisfaction that comes with being able to take every shot, but most of us don't sell our work anyway. And once your walls are filled with photos, like mine are, you don't really need more. Of course all this is just my opinion, so do what works for you.
Asking that type of question here will get you what others have done or would do. Reading your comments I think that you really like the Fuji and are somewhat indifferent to the Nikon gear. So, in keeping with your desires, sell all Nikon gear, keep the Fuji gear and maybe add a Fuji camera that has features that you want that the X100 doesn’t have.
I see 3 choices here and 2 of them will depend upon your shooting style and subjects:
1. Do NOT get the Sony unless you love to spend hours with their learning curve. The menus are too stupidly laid out with too many choices and an archaic software design. I had extremely difficulty in making changes on the fly--learned from my own experiences.
2. If you shoot sports and grandkids outdoors, get the D500. The AF is fast and with a 70-200mm lens, the images are incredibly sharp.
3. If you want a great low-light camera, get the Z6. Many of those critical comments about the Z6 (poor battery life, only 1 card slot, slower AF and tracking are hogwash. I bought a Z6 this Fall and have taken about 24,500 images so far and it is flawless to me. I experimented and found the perfect settings for AF and shooting high school basketball and volleyball. It's every bit as fast as my D500 is. I love it for the grandkids night time soccer games and their indoor basketball games.
So the decision is yours regarding what you shoot.

The D500 is an outstanding DX camera.

I have been a Pentax shooter since Vietnam,68-69. Have tried canon & Nikon, but always returned to Pentax....But... I now also shoot FUJI(I have 3) and there glass is nearly Pentax quality. I now have nine Fuji lenses, and just love the stuff. I would definitely keep FUJI..
