Actor Kirk Douglas passed away at age 103. I was surprised he lived so long, after suffering a major Stroke many years ago. I remember seeing some of his movies when I was a kid. Three were Ulysses, Spartacus, and the Vikings. He played Artist Van Gogh, and countless other great movies, many in B&W after WW2. RIP Kirk.
I recall him in 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. This was back in the early 1950s. Yes, to live to be 103 when considering that smoking was very much in and popular back in the 1930s and 40s. Not sure if Kirk was a smoker but the odds are he was. Nearly everyone in Hollywood was.
