Close enough, ht; the actual name of the place is 'Goosenecks State Park.' Overall, archaeology in the area hasn't changed a whole lot since you were there in the '60's. Except that being there now is more like being there in the '50's. Either way, all the archaeologists I know still dig it. Regardless, it would be a tough place to have a bus go belly up on you; I mean really! Krikey!!! there's no cell reception or anything!
The cell phone reception was even worse in the sixties. :)
We broke an axle. Anyone know where to find an axle for a 1952 International Harvester school bus?
Eventually we located one in Denver. Spent a week camping out on the outskirts of nearby Bluff, UT.

As luck would have it, YES, I do know where you can find an axle for a '52 IH school bus. A guy I know who lives on the outskirts of Bluff has one sitting out behind his house. (He moaned and complained about it for
years before finally deciding it would be an okay place for his chickens to live.)
Can't guarantee the axle is any good after all this time, but............ Shall I give him a holler?

Well, he didn't have it there when I was there. I'm sure that old bus we drove has long since shuffled off its mortal coil (and its starter coil too). If I'd known all I needed was a time machine, we wouldn't have had to send all the way to Denver.

It definately has impact. Convention be damned. A beautiful shot.
Agreed, couldn't have said it any better.
I like it because each of my eyes have a scene to view. Neither feels neglected in taking in the photographic efforts of the photographer. I could go on but I'm getting a bit dizzy from viewing this offering.

Convention would contend an image like this has --or does not have-- Visual Impact. Convention would argue it does --or does not-- convey Mood or Emotion or Feeling. Convention would use various words, and would make various claims, and to the conventionally minded, those contentions would be incontestable.
I would contend otherwise.

Super image.
Does exactly what I think a compelling image should do - - - makes me wish I was there so I could see it for myself.
Thanks for sharing.

It looks like a fine shot to me. I would contend the cloud cover gave you your golden hour. :-)
Convention, I would have to say, is incorrect, at least in this instance. Personally, I have never worried much about “convention."

Jim, I agree with you. Far to many individuals use quotes of a book or statement made by others. I like shooting with whatever light I have and make the best of it like you have.

Exactly my point, Greg. Thank you, sir!

As someone who had to use a dictionary in his early life to learn English, I found that "convention" has a long list of connotations. If one gets a good dictionary, one will note that "mob rule" will be listed as one of the connotations.
In art, and life, often "What do you see?" is abridged to ignore the other senses that help define what is seen. It can be said, conventionally, that Convention shortens all down to four letters such as FWIW and the like.
It also could be said that only nuns can be conventioneers.
FWIW! The photo content determines and defines on its own sole merit.

I guess I'm not conventional, it has impact with me and I like the details.
Excellent shot Cany, but for all the 'conventions' :o)
