But you can get an "anchor mount" from them to attach one end to the tripod socket. It then hangs lens down. And I love how it supports Nikkor 200-500 f5.6 at my side when attached to the inverted lens collar. I can steady the rig with my hand on the collar while walking, then pull it up to shooting position with the same hand.
I did get a couple of their "anchor mounts" and attached to the tripod mounts on my cameras. For each camera I have "anchors" on both strap mounting points as well as on the tripod anchor mount (3 anchors total). With any of my Canon DSLRs I can attach to the two main strap points if I'm using a smaller lens, then switch one of them to the bottom anchor point if I have a larger lens mounted (that's when I generally have an issue with the lens not pointing down).
