My only caution is that if you are running on an Apple the 2019 won't work with Catalina which requires a 64 bit program. If that is what you are running then you will have to get the Elements 2020 version.

Hi group,
I used the CC version of LR & PS from when it first was available until 3 month ago. I loved it but was a magazine editor and needed "what it could do" in my day-to-day work. After retiring, I found I wasn't using the features in PS at all as LR served most of my needs. After trying eBay LR, I found those "good deals" were illegal software. Today, I'm using the free 2020 version of Adobe Bridge and PSE 15 for all of my work. PSE does a good job for our current needs as a self-published authors via Amazon.com. We are pleased to save the $10.00 for it plus the more than $80.00 monthly charges we have eliminated. $10.00 and another $10.00 adds up over time. I'm saving the extra "only $10.00 charges" for a D850. It won't be long now and I can add one to my D750 and D700. Sorry for taking so long to advise PSE is excellent when used with Bridge. Take care & ...

I started with PSE 11, now have PSE 14. It does enough for me.

Thanks, I am not running Catalina so this seemed to be a great fit.

Elements put their program on sale each year. I believe the 2019 version was selling for $39.00 at Costco and B&H. Each year they will go on sale.

I just checked the Costco website and it didn’t show any Adobe programs.

My opinion: Yes, it is sufficient to do most any post processing you'll be doing. If you master all that it can do and still need more, then possibly the full-blown Photoshop but I find it does all I want to do and then some. Good luck,
Papa Joe

I have used PSE for many years, constantly for the past six years beginning with PSE 15 with a recent upgrade (?) to 2020 while it was on sale. The usage of it has resulted in me doing most all shots in RAW bringing about a major improvement in the quality of my work and has enabled me to do far more revisions. In terms of learning to use PSE the library of UTube instructional videos is vast and very, very good.

My only admonition is that under no circumstance would I purchase this on Craigslist.

As a hobby photographer would Photoshop Elements be sufficient for editing landscapes, sunsets, and occasional portraits? I found the 2019 version new on Craigslist for under $50. Would it be worth the invest?

Yes, but $50 is too much to pay for an old version. If you watch for sales, you can probably get the current year for maybe $10 more than that.

I suppose it's what you are used to. I preferred the Elements organizer to Bridge. I prefer Lightroom to Elements organizer.

When I finally hang up doing photography as a business, I will probably go back to Elements. I don't think I've had bridge open in 10 years

I use Elements and will continue to use it! I shoot in RAW and find Adobe Camera RAW a great tool.

Be sure to buy Scott Kelby's book "The Photoshop Elements XXX for Digital Photographers". The XXX is for whatever version of Elements you buy. You can also buy a used, older version of the book on Ebay and it will contain virtually the same information as the latest version of the book.

Be sure that the copy of Elements you buy on Craigs List isn't downloaded on other computers. I believe that Adobe lets you download the program to 3 computers at any one time. I could be wrong on the number of computers, but I know there is a limit on how many you can have on a single serial number. Yes, you will have to register Elements.

Thanks for the advice. I contacted Adobe and they told me to just call them and they would check the serial number for me.

Hi,
I use Bridge because the Organizer in Elements is very slow - at least it is on both of my machines (Windows 7 & 10). Bridge works much faster and I can do Keywords to help track and organize. I've purchased several different versions of PSE (with Organizer) and the Organizer is very slow on ALL of them. Maybe I'm using it wrong but I'm really happy with Bridge + PSE now so I see no reason to change. Take care & ...

I use it fairly often; you can't go wrong with PSE.
