Noticing more and more that there are GREAT deals to be had on EBAY....Like this one....
WOW! $7.85 is a fantastic price for a nifty 50, even from Yongnuo!
BUT, the scam is the seller is selling several items in one listing.... a lens or a cleaning pen. Note the drop down labeled choice....
select the pen and the price is $7.85, select the lens and the price is $71.24. Not so great a deal, on either actually!
E Buyer Beware!
I guess its better than a selling price of $2.00, but a shipping cost of $88.00 huh? :)

At one time eBay didn't charge fees on the shipping part of a sale - and seeing those very high S&H costs was pretty common. eBay wised up to that. Those drop-downs are varied - usually to pick a brand or quantity - where the per piece price might drop. Never seen one for totally different items that I can recall. When searching, there's a drop down at the top to order the results by price - including shipping. I generally do that, and items with the high S&H (like the $88 in your example) drop down the list of search results. By default it's set to "Time: Ending soonest"
A scam a day keeps the doctor away.
That's almost funny, but I've seen ads like that before. Buyer beware!
E-Bay is replete with scammers whether you are buying or selling. I had my own experience while selling a computer. Fortunately I got it sold at the price that I was looking for but not before encountering several cons.
If you're not sure check with their help line.

Saw one the other day for a camera body (A fairly recent Sony) from the Vietnam or Thailand area (I think), camera was pristine, a bargain at like $20, shipping was a "what-a-deal" moment, for the tidy sum of $179.99 or something close.......... a novel way to get your price...

IMO E Bay is still the Wild Wild West. Lots of great deals, lots of great sellers, lots of great scammers. I have ordered from E Bay occasionally and have been pretty satisfied but still need to BUYER BEWARE.
Those drop-down menus for choosing the exact item you're ordering can be confusing. It's done a lot with camera batteries and chargers. Drop-down list shows one battery, two batteries, one with charger, two with charger, charger alone, etc etc.
It's not a scam to offer choices. Just have to look carefully and wade through the ad from the catchy heading to the exact option.
Once you've done it you look for a drop-down in the future.

Funny how it always seems that the LOWEST price item is used but the item alluded to in the ad/email is the highest price huh? Isn't that a twist on the bait & switch routine?
My very first digital camera (a 3.2 MP Canon) I actually bought on fleabay, never received it. Reported the seller, he got cought, I chatted with the detective, seller went to jail (he had scammed some other buyer as well), I got compensated and seller had to pay restitution as well.

I think it's Chinese sellers who are the leaders in confusing/deceptive/trick ads, whether they're in China or all over the US.
