I seem to be seeing more and more Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers (descriptive and funny name), it's great to see these colorful little Woodpeckers as they eat the fall berries or drill small wells to drink the sap. One is immature. I appreciate those who take the time to view and make thoughtful and honest comments. All my bird and nature photos are taken in South Eastern Ct. most with a Canon 7D Mark II or 5D Mark IV and Canon 100 to 400II THANK YOU
All great, #3 is beautiful.
Beautiful. Especially #3.
Nice set..agree #3 is the best of the set.
Nice Set! I really like #3.
Beautiful set, Sherwood, and we only see them in the wintertime when they like to visit a dogwood that has a small cavity in which we place some peanut or bark butter and I find that the images that I take of the red-bellied feeding at the cavity most always comes out a litter clearer than the sapsucker feeding at the same location and think that the darker color around its eyes is the reason.
All are really nice but #3 is astounding. I have been seeing them this winter at the suet feeder. It's the first time I've seen them without having to get into the woods.
Yes, the name is weird cause who ever sees the belly of the Red Bellied or Yellow Bellied.
These photos are wonderful. #3 is outstanding!
