WORST PHOTOGRAPH BY A PROFESSIONAL I HAVE EVER SEEN ..YES ROCKWELL

I enjoy kenrockwell.com, the articles are entertaining and helpful. Even though his photos are over saturated and over sharpened, he turns the mundane into something attractive. Seeing the beauty in routine things is an important photographic niche. Criticizing his family Christmas photo is unnecessary.

You could, perhaps, list your web site address as the tag line to your messages instead of the insulting IQ factoid. My read of he IQ distribution chart shows the 50% below 100 but not 34% below 50. I'm not sure where you get that percentage.

As for Copyright
1/ the item has to have merit . a squiggle on some paper has no merit . This photo has no merit in law.
2/ The infringed person must be able to show a loss. He could say his reputation has been damaged but any damage was self inflicted and he took no steps to prevent it being copied.He would need to show a sudden drop in earnings following the publication,
3/ It is only worth suing people who have the money to pay the damages. Not in this case.
5/ He would have the complication of suing in another country Not Trumpland.
6/ He may do better to sue UH as they have provided the means of reproduction and have failed to remove it .

I sincerely hope that somebody besides OP does the writing on his website. Mostly due to his incompetence, I can scarcely suffer to read his posts in this thread. I hate to see the English language butchered, in print or any other form. SMH

??? what the heck is this all about. I just see a bad reproduction (I doubt Ken posted a blurred image) of a casual family portrait. Can Ken do better? absolutely. May he regret posting it/making it public? Possibly too. That's all folks, pull the curtain down. Much ado about nothing as has be said before me!

The O.P. should have stuck the photo in "For Your Consideration," without any introduction and waited for the critique before revealing the source.

I would think that the photos in the card hold special meanings or memories for the family, which is probably the reason they were chosen.

Not a spoof, as I was looking at reviews for 10-20mm zooms, and I saw that image about a half hour ago on KR's site.
