If my memory is correct, the C130 and the spectre are the same platform. Fill with guns and it becomes a spectre.
yes same platform but huge difference in inside space , C117 inside space is almost the double than C130 , my son made the correction he was on C130 several time to back and forth Afghanistan with italian special forces

A look inside
Who told you this? Anyone who has ever been in a C-130 would immediately know that this is NOT the inside of a C-130. I have jumpmastered as well as jumped many many times from a C-130.
This picture is either the interior of a C-17 Globemaster or a C-5A. But I'm pretty sure its a C-17.
You need a static line extension when you jump from this aircraft.
One of my last jumps was from one of these.
Sorry, but that doesn’t look anything like the C-130’s I spent many hours on in Japan and SE Asia. Are you sure that’s not a C-117? Loved the 130. Not a particularly comfortable ride but extremely solid and reliable. We used to haul fuel bladders and fueling equipment out of Yokota AB. Usually had great aircrews. Remember “ bag nasties”?
My bad, it is a C17 Globemaster
My impression also but it has been fifty years since I've been in the back of a 130 so I figured they might have nicened it up some. My first trip inside the back of the 17 was awe inspiring...everything had been cleaned up so that it was almost impossible to snag on something accidentally. Both aircraft fly over my house frequently as I live near Fort Bragg.

It is difficult to identify planes in flight. By the time you latch onto their license plate under the tail, they have flown out of sight.
I did have a C-5 fly over me. But it was painted black and before it got its designation! Yes, it was a few decades ago.
Great shot of a very large plane.
Thanks for sharing. I'm an ex-C5 FE. As stated before, this is not FRED. But I do enjoy seeing the cargo bays of aircraft. So much has changed since I was globetrotting on the taxpayer's tab. The LED lighting in the bay is awesome. I had a chance to tour a C5M, and that was the first thing I noticed.

Way to big inside to be a c 130 I was a mechanic on one for 12 yrs and spent many hrs inside of one and this is not anything like the ones I ever worked on or seen.

The interiors look similar. It may be a C117. The major difference is that the C1390 is a prop plane vs the jet C117.
Personally, I have never been inside the C117. It is "after" my time.
Definitely a C-17. The big workhorse today! C-117 is the military version of the DC-3.
A fabulous shot of the interior of this C-17. So clean looking. Have flown many hours in a
C-130, first time between Yokota AFB and Misawa AFB. Last time between Hickam/Pearl Harbor Joint Base and Alaska.

The C47 is the military version of the DC3, is it not?
The C117 comes up as the Globemaster. As does C17. In Google.
