Go with the camera that best suits your needs on what you like to shoot. I shoot wildlife with a D500 great AF with lens that suit my needs.

"It's time for an update and I can't decide between Fuji XT-2 or Nikon 5600. Can I get opinions from the gallery please? Many thanks"

Two questions come to my mind not knowing what type of photography you are interested in:

1- Is your present camera lacking the features you need? Perhaps it is broken or needs expensive repairs? Update is recommended.
2- Do you own Fuji lenses? Buying the Fuji means investing in new lenses. A Nikon body does not.

My cameras are old but they fulfill my needs. Do I need to say more?

Addendum: Sorry, I posted twice by accident.

I came from a Nikon 7100 years ago to Fuji.
I won’t go back now, nope no way.
You will get bored with the 5600. There’s just not enough to hold my attention.
I used to shoot only RAW but the jpegs are just so darn good on my XT2.
I can shoot in 3 different modes at the same time, ie vivid, mono & sepia.
No Nikon can do that.
There’s so much more that Fuji can do that Nikon can’t, love the firmware updates.
Beat buying a new camera everytime Nikon updates.

in Fashion Textiles cover the body AND signify Social Code i.e. one's persona
funny how on UHH Photography while in theory produces one's visual statement albeit here it signifies Social Code a.k.a. one's persona...

I have to agree with billnikon... this is a troll's post... and warrants no serious consideration...
Folks get over your need to justify your foolish expenditures... and maybe get serious about establishing your brand i.e. visual statement... this is what commercial photographers strive to do and the lion's share just view their camera kit as a tool...

btw, what signifies a "Professional Photographer"? One who has master illumination (regardless of their kit)... Why are there so few post and queries about illumination i.e. the merits of split verses Rembrandt illumination? My guess is precious few on UHH actually currently shoot commercially albeit seems like there are a fair amount of "old boys" who like to pontificate about how great they were back in the day...

Photographic Excellence is most assuredly not a consumer product... it is primarily a result of mastering the art, and visual science of illumination... the effect that shadows have on how the human mind perceives depth and dimension... how hue and chroma effect the human physic... what one uses to capture this is at best secondary...

As to the OP's query? clickbait... enough said

As a happy Fuji XT-2 owner, the Fuji gets my vote.

Yes it is. But the X-T3 is made in China. May be that is why the X-T2 is more expensive.

For the last 55 years I have shot Nikons and I currently use both a D700 and a D810. Also, I have a Fuji X-H1. Your question is a difficult one to answer when only you know what you are looking for in a camera. Mirrorless cameras are a different animal and I find that they open up a different style of shooting. The Fuji for me has been a great deal of fun. It is also very light compared to the Nikons and easy to use. However, when it comes down to the business of getting the best results I pull up the D810. I know that none of my cameras are the same as the ones you are looking at but this is the contrast I see in the Nikons and Fujis.

I've owned a Pentax, Canon, Kodak, 2 Panasonic's, 2 Nikon's but not a Fuji. I liked my Panasonic's the best, Nikons the least. I would recommend Panasonic but since that is not an option, I'd go for the Fuji.

I'm not a professional though, but since you asked, that's my opinion.

Really? Your serious? You are comparing a D5600 with two lenses for $600.00 VS. a Fuji that it's body sells for $1600.00.
Really? you can't decide between the two? I refuse to enter further into this troll post. Get a life.

Very good point.
Prices are a bit off I believe, but close enough. To be fair you would need to compare equally priced equipment.

I use both of them. I have a Nikon D810 and a Fujifilm X-T20 and frankly, the X-T20 is every bit as good in my opinion as well as a joy to carry as a walk-around camera. If I were not so heavily invested in Nikon, I would not hesitate to move fully into the Fujifilm venue. With its video performance the Fujifilm is hard to beat regardless of the brand. It is truly a little powerhouse of a camera.

Composite and plastic are the new metal. Made necessary so that wi-fi and Bluetooth can function. (And to reduce manufacturing complexity and cost.)

I have three pro level composite cameras. Thought it might be an issue. It's not. Plastic is more problematic in my mind.
