It's time for an update and I can't decide between Fuji XT-2 or Nikon 5600. Can I get opinions from the gallery please? Many thanks
Well, I'm a Nikon man so guess what my opinion is. Lol.

I am a Nikon guy and biased...so Nikon
As part of the decision, do you have Nikon lenses now?
Metal vs Plastic
Mirrorless vs DLSR
Future vs past ...
I have a D40X that is at least 12 years old. I have the 18-55 that came with it and also the 55-200VR. Weight is also important because of rotator cuff problem.

XT2 is metal, mirrorless, future.

I had nothing but Canon when it was film. Still have my Canonette, love it. I now have a Nikon D5200, and D750. I have an Olympus E-500. I have a Sony R-1. I love all of them. I'm glad I bought all of them, no regrets except all the money I invested in the D750 and the Nikon 24-120, the Tamron 70-300, and the B&W Polarizer at my age, all of which I do enjoy immensely. Just follow your own heart thoughts and enjoy whichever you decide yourself.

Starting out from scratch, right now, of your two alternatives, I would go with the Fuji XT-3, with the XF 10-24, the 18 - 135 and the 50-230 which gets you the hold trinity of lenses.
Or the XT-3 with the 18-55 kit lens.
If looking to buy new X-T2 better do it soon. They are discontinued.
If a jpg shooter go Fuji.
Check out the X-T3 and X-T30. X-T3 at good price now. X-T30 is cheaper but same technology as X-T3 but smaller size. Some minor differences but same image quality (sensor), AF etc.
Might want to contact CatMarley. X-T2 user I believe. Check out her dog photographs. Just Beautiful.

The Fuji X-T2 is a much better camera than the Nikon D5600. But it's more expensive. It's even more expensive than the newer (supposedly improved) X-T3.
Again ... it all depends.
How invested are you in vintage Nikon glass that you feel you need to keep and use?
It has never really been about the camera- pick a system. What;s their longevity?
My D80 and my EM still take good pictures- and probably will for another 10 tears.
I'm not too sure about the Nikon "Z"s; or the little Fujis.
I *like* Fujis. If I was starting with nothing else I'd go that way.
But I have a shed load of various Nikon gear. And somehow I talked myself into getting more ...

i agree with others, this is sort of an apples to oranges comparison... $1,500 or one or $600 for the other? More like a Fuji X-T3 or a Nikon D500

X-Series user since 2013.
Gave up on FF Nikon three years ago 'cos Fujis are "good enough".
See my X-T2 pics from this year (with prime lenses) and ...... you choose.
