Each has its story. Number 1&3 are Balette Dancers, 2 is the explosive force of the ocean, 6 complex curvature and angles, and in 10 she is commanding the waves with her fingers much as a maestro conducting an orchestra. In general, I found the hands and facial expressions to be an interesting sub-portion of the sea-drama.

Summary: WOW

dpullum, I love how you have found a story with each photo! What a creative mind you have! Love it!

Great set, and expect nothing less from your surfing postings, they are always enjoyable to view.. Out of curiosity, when you go out and photo the surfers, how many photos do you average before you begin sorting and dumping?

justhercamera, thank you for the kind words.
To answer your question it really varies a lot depending on the wave quality, lighting, talent of surfers in the water etc.
For this photo session I took over 1000 photos, but that is unusually high. My average might be 400-500.
And like you pointed out, the first thing I do is delete the out of focus ones or poor exposures, or bad quality in some way or another. No need to deal with poor photos more than once. Waste of time.

I have been wondering for a long time. So many of your images look like you were carried over the action by a drone. Talk about "Up close and personal." How do you get such great viewpoints for these?

cameraf4.........simple.......I shoot from the Huntington Beach Pier. I'm not only getting out close to the surfers because I walk out on the pier but I get that really cool high angle which you can't get from the beach.
