One A Day, Day 84.
Location, props and the contextual relation to the model.
It is no mystery that I enjoy creating visual 'stories'. I do a lot in studios and create 'environments' not for scale but to convey a larger context to the model.
Here working with Jenny KNOX on location is the corner of my home garage. I had watched over a long while, how the sun worked with the large winter tree viewed through a window. Using the time of day as late afternoon I placed a large reflector to bounce the sunlight coming in through the open garage door. So all was the natural sunlight reflected from the warming zebra pastern of the 50/50 California Sun Bounce reflector coming in through that opening. I set the exposure to produce a 'good' exposure knowing that it would not provide adequate illumination of sky and the tree.
This lack of detail helped to keep attention away from the tree and wall as well as the use of limiting the depth of field to further enhance the soft focus of the tree. To further enhance the exterior view out door 'look' I added a sheet of thin plastic to break up detail further.
This was the first image. I then decided to work to give a sense of the location by including the surrounding contextual location. then adding a white card reflector to fill the shadowed side of the face. This is the second and subsequent group of images. This filled the shadows of the face even with the cornucopia in KNOX's hand. Having her raise her hand we see that the fill is not obstructing the fill even with the cornucopias raised opposite her face. And having her hand raised the dark background of the black blouse enhances the hand, epically the thumb by creating a sense of outlining light along the edge.
In the last of six frames I had removed the California Sun Bounce reflector to show the effect of a reflector that is a matt white reflector that would not increase the warmth of the light.
Really good shots, especially the last one. What makes these special is her very seductive eye contact with the lens/ viewer. She's a beauty with some real game. Thanks for sharing this set!

Well said, I agree. Lovely and creative set.

All my eye is drawn to is the blown out window behind her. Sorry, but true.
At first glance, I thought she was holding a hornet's nest! Yikes!

I know, it is weird isn't it! One of my sisters Maria (Jane) collected the wildest things and decorated her home and yard. When she closed up her home and moved to Texas she needed to store a lot of these things. I have this huge industrial building and so we pulled up her U-Haul truck and unloaded it. She went through loads of things and I told her why get rid of all her fun toys, so shelves of fun props. When she passed away she left it all to me because no one wanted it or even to look through it all.
Like an old French windowed door that went into the garden, now painted yellow.

Maybe it’s just me, but the last image of the set looks like a woman holding up her dress to urinate in a basket. The rest are nothing special.

Nice try, Tim. Truth be told, I find the image trashy, degrading and disgusting, not exciting.

You’re too generous, John. Seriously. I do agree about the snapshot. His jab at you was just stupid.

The Rabid Eye has spoken! You two clowns are actual 'entreating' unlike most of your small following. Yet you need to get the Frump to stop posting nice things, he's so much better at being contrary.

This was entertaining to me until it just keeping more stupid from these guys who just should shut up and just move on. If anyone does not like a posting they do not have to dwell on it, exit out and move on. I started a reply to the Frump yesterday but stopped. I think now I will add my 'two cents' to their comments.
JohnFrim and Rabbi; assuming you are a real Rabbi.
This is the kind of rhetoric that turns a thread into a monkey shit fight because a member (you guys) do not like something posted. After a short time it is no longer entertaing but makes you look bad. If it is not a positive reply or offering constructive opinion on an image.
At least I know and feel secure knowing we have members who are the all knowing experts on this things.
Get a life dudes.

Thank you Bruce, your observation is appropriate and timely. I do be believe that the one calling himself Rabbi is not part of the Hebrew Faith, thus I refer to him as Rabid-Eye, while Frump is well Frump. There is 'no percentage' in an attempt to engage the trolls in dialogue, in less than two posts you get profanity and childish tantrums. That said, probably best just to note that they are part of the trolls of the Hog Forum. Most of the time I just ignore their posts, and yet, that post by Frump that read like a golden shower revelation, well it was just too good to pass up.
Any way, back to a conversation with what a few call 'merit'.

Yea I couldn't help it either. Sometimes it is just a little fun but I was serious, I just do not think it is respectful and productive to Troll around anywhere. You are a regular, almost daily publisher here. What do they do ? This applies to anyone. If some body does not like something Ok, say your peace and move on. They could say this about me ? I am just pointing out the fact that negative trolling goes now where.
Peace out bro, I gotta get my ass geared up and drive to Dallas to get some camera stuff for the air show this week-end. I rented a Nikon D500, it is really neat. I do not like driving to Dallas but Micro Center is there and they are the best computer store in the area. Wish me luck bro.

I don’t think expressing one’s honest opinion is trolling. I said what the image looked like to me. Tim was the one slandering me saying I am into golden showers.
There is no rule that says only positive comments are permitted. Anyone who posts an image for critique has to be open to positive and negative impressions of the work. I have been positive on Tim’s work when I feel it deserves accolades. I am also giving him wide latitude on mediocre images that I don’t comment on at all.
