Original Washington Nationals played in the late 1800's. Late fortys found the Washington Senators representing the city. all called the Washington Senators, and were in the Capital continuously until the third Senators franchise left to become the Texas Rangers. The second had left the city in 1960 becoming the Minnesota Twins and were followed immediately by a new expansion team of the same name, ultimately leaving for Texas in 1971. Baseball returned to the Capital in 2005 when the Montreal Expos became the Washington Nationals.

Wow! That's interesting. I would never had figured out those comings and goings? Thanks.

The Nationals will travel to St.Louis for game 1. This will be a 7 games series, if necessary. The previous series was the best of 5 games. Game time. Friday, 10-11-19 at 8:00pm EDT.

Yankees are going to be like the Giants, they are going to chock under pressure when they play a team equal or better than they are.

Your conjecture. I think you will be the first to say, “See, I told you”, if your prediction becomes reality. And if it does not, we won’t hear from you.

This should be a good series. The Houston Astros get home field advantage, because they won more regular season games, and won their division. When the Yankees visited the Dodgers, late last August, for a 3 game interleague series. Dodger Stadium was full, and spectators paid scalper ticket prices, just to see the Yankees. Both the Yankees and Astros won over 100 games. I remember seeing the Astros in Dodgers Stadium, when they were in the National League.

The Senators went to become the Twins, second team of Senators went to become the Rangers. Now if only the Redskins would go and come back as a decent team!

Just goes to show that the regular season is meaningless and teams that combine luck and skill prevail in the playoffs. This is not only true in baseball but football and basketball as well.

Do not know if this is true in all sports but, with football I don't pay much attention until near end of the regular season because the injured list can change everything IMHO. unless you have a Montana / Young combo.

Minnesota Twins fans will be shocked to hear that their team was disbanded. The Washington Senators moved to Minnesota and became the Twins.

You might consider not making such definitive, bold predictions. It's sports. How many favorites have lost in competition? The list is very long.
I hope you are wrong - been a Yankee fan since 1946, when I was 9 yrs. old.

So True. Did anyone think The New York Football GIANTS would ever beat the undefeated Patriots in the Super Bowl??? Also one other time.

Super Bowl XLVI. I may be wrong about the Pats being undefeated.

I'm pulling for the Nats too now. I didn't know that they were the team that came from Montreal. Good to know. For some reason I thought they were previously the Washington Senators. What happened to them?

The original Senators re-located and became the Minnesota Twins in 1961 and a new Senators franchise was set up in DC. That franchise became the Texas Rangers in circa 1971. The Montreal Expos became the Washington Nationals in 2005.

Well Mark I didn't know we had so much in common. I have been a Red Sox fan since 1946, also 9 years old, when it was fashion to be a Boston Braves fan. They were regular World Series contenders. I remember the saying Spahn and Sain and pray for rain.
