I really like this shot. but I agree with sinatraman the rule of thirds would add to the shot.

The shell IS on the lower horizontal "third" line (goes right through the middle of the shell) and for me the bubbles on the right side are important to the picture, and the lines in the sand indicate motion going towards the upper left, so I wouldn't want to lose any of that.
Excellent placement IMHO, and DOES fit the rule of thirds which says "important compositional elements should be placed along these lines or their intersections"
