LOLOL, PJ! Well, it gets pretty cold here, but I still Love it! Sitting by the fire on a snowy day, hot toddies, and a good book! LOVE THAT!!!! :O) You'd probably love our summers! 100+ degrees sometimes. But we live up in the "high country" in AZ, so it's ALWAYS better than the valley! IMHO! LOL!
I know it is a dry cold right
I lived in Michigan for 16 years. That is cold.
I have lived in the desert since 1984 and my blood has thinned, I cut myself shaving now and I spurt like a fountain

I would have "thin skin" out in that heat! I lived in Mesa, AZ the first year "in" AZ and OMG!!!!! About 2 months ago we had to drive down there and it read 117 on my car thermometer! NOT TOO KIND there, either!!!! LOL! It's all yours, Dude! :O)

Marj, the first three are just beautiful and balanced to me.. The garden statue just doesn't interest me. The cat looks balanced to me.
Thanks for the input Mar, I appreciate it. These were all cropped using the rule of thirds grid.

I have a sanctuary down here for wolf/dogs, and I do not get out much. The critters keep me on a short leash

I find your words especially fascinating because I once wrote an allegory called "Out of the desert", where a man is struggling to survive the heat and burning sand, and his blood thickens in his veins as it shrinks away from the awesome heat. Guess I got it completely wrong lol ! Can't write authentic fiction unless one actually experiences the things one writes about, I suppose. As does Jack London, his short story "TO BUILD A FIRE" is just amazing.

Doctors will tell you that blood will thin some in the desert heat.

Beautiful, Marj.
Thanks! But do you think they are balanced, any one off to your eye. My idea of balance is a little odd sometimes. That's why I don't drive. I kept running into things or got freaked because I thought I was closer than I was.
Thanks Janice too but what do you think about the balance?

I don't normally critique as I don't feel I am qualified since I am still learning too but since I was asked directly I will say that I don't think there is enough empty space on them to actually say you followed the rule of thirds on them but they are very pleasing and balanced for other reasons. As we said, the rule is sometimes better broken...
Imagine the grid overlaying your photo and the subject should be along one line of the grid or at an intersection when applying the rule of thirds.

Thanks Janice. I love your critique and yes you are quite qualified. I did use the rule of thirds grid and cropped the photos to that which actually gave them less space. Hummmmm, maybe I should have just left them original   So on to the Doors now!!!! Maybe I could put a door sideways and shift it up in a corner of the grid someplace! Just kidding
Thanks Pea (and Nan incognito) for this informative day. I have learned that much of what I do is just fine the way it is and I had fun too. Love you guys, all of you

What I have here are the wolf and dog mix. None are full blooded wolf. Yes, even these are in danger of being put down by rabies and animal control. They are considered a dangerous animal.
I tell people that I have the cleanest face in the state from being licked so much.
Hey if you ever get down this way in the "cooler" weather you can stop by and play.

My daughter goes out morning and late evening to feed stray dogs milk and biscuits, and it's a sight to see them big, ornery critters grovelling and fawning in front of her, they love her like crazy coz they sense she loves them unconditionally :D

hey....whats this?
advertising a day.
hahahahahah
I once knew a tree that grew to me knee
A maple it was, gave syrup to me
It grew up so high, it reached to the sky
It's leaves turned so red, I gasped me oh my.
A world with no trees...no sound of the breeze
that likes to blow softly and rustle the leaves.
would be a bad sign, we might just resign
cause a world with no trees, is end of the line.
