There are numerous compositional elements that contribute to a successful image. One of them, The Rule of Thirds, can enhance the impact of a scene by increasing harmony or adding tension. The Rule of Thirds was discovered by the Greeks and has been used for thousands of years by artists.
Imagine your photo is divided into 9 equal segments by 2 vertical and 2 horizontal lines. The Rule of Thirds says you should place your subject along one of those lines or at the points where they intersect. Try using this concept as you go out and shoot today and see what happens when followed, or not! Remember most rules are meant to be broken except this one, PEANUT SAID TO HAVE FUN!

I wasn't kidding LOL I have heard of the rule of thirds but it never really made sense. Maybe I am just special education. But yes I have played tic tac toe.

These are great and peanut, you always do such a wonderful job with composition..(you too nanny)... I LOvE the yellow thing on the green stick... Thank you for using its real name instead of the technical term of Blake eyed Susan or something more scientific...lol
