I have the Sigma 150-600 mm Contemporary, Canon mount, with the MC 11 adapter that I use on my A6000 and A7 III. Attached are two shots of the moon on March 21 - the one taken with the A7 was about 45 minutes earlier than the A6000, when the moon was much lower in the sky, which I think accounts for the color difference. They were both at 600 mm, 1/500 sec, hand held. The A7 was ISO 1600, f8. The A6000 ISO 320, f 6.3.
The focus on moving objects is good with both cameras, but of course the A7 III focuses much faster.
My view, a good lens adapter combination.

For what its worth I recently purchased the new Sigma 60-600 lens. HAven't quite gotten used to it yet but it seems to work great on my D500. In regards to Sony, I have a Sony A7III with a Commlite series 6 adapter for my Nikon glass. I tried the lens and adapter on the Sony with excellent results. Now I can use it on Full Frame also!

Just another option.

I own a Sony A9 and Sony A7III and belong to the relevant FB groups. If you own either camera, but do not belong to any Facebook groups for those cameras, I am happy to ask the question for you, if you wish, and post the answer.

Another great idea coming from this thread! I'm now on two FB groups for Sony mirrorless. Thanks Jerrin1 and Imagemeister!

I have the Sigma 150~600 C and adapter to fit Sony E mount. Works as well as any other lens's tried eg...Leica 39mmscrew ...Super Takumar 42mm screw...Nikon bayonet (as with the 150~600)… The 'Peak-Focus' works well on the Sony body. Not sure what the identifications are on the adapters. Price-wise, the ones from China, cost one third a UK dealer price, but just took longer (Free-Post) to arrive. Same make !! And Postage was extra UK to UK.

Could you please tell us the UK price for this lens and the company you bought it from. Was it via Amazon or Ebay both UK?

Also, what is the cost of the Adaptor UK also. I am asking as I have a Sony A7RII. I am being very careful before I purchase a long lens for this camera because of my budget, so if you have found a reasonably priced lens I would be grateful if you would share the information.

Thanks. H

Which Commlite series 6 adapter did you get? I have the same lens and tried it with a rental A7iii and Metabones adapter, focusing was sometimes slow.

Folks the best adapter for Sigma and even Canon lenses on Sony bodies is the Sigma MC-11, hands down. Neither Metabones or other adapters can match its performance even at a higher price. Expert reviewers and pros agree on that. Get the wrong adapter , even expensive ones, and suffer poorer performance .
