For what it's worth, B&H is bundling the Canon-mount 150-600 Contemporary and MC-11 adapter for sale as a kit, to generally good, though few, reviews.

I have the Sigma 150~600 C and adapter to fit Sony E mount. Works as well as any other lens's tried eg...Leica 39mmscrew ...Super Takumar 42mm screw...Nikon bayonet (as with the 150~600)… The 'Peak-Focus' works well on the Sony body. Not sure what the identifications are on the adapters. Price-wise, the ones from China, cost one third a UK dealer price, but just took longer (Free-Post) to arrive. Same make !! And Postage was extra UK to UK.

I own a Sony A9 and Sony A7III and belong to the relevant FB groups. If you own either camera, but do not belong to any Facebook groups for those cameras, I am happy to ask the question for you, if you wish, and post the answer.

When i bought my A6000 I wanted more zoom, so after going to the only camera store in Fairbanks I purchased a DLC DOT LINE electronic lens adaptor for EF & EF-S lens to E-mount camera. It works and it auto focuses but searches sometimes and i thought it was slow with my Canon mount Sigma 150-6OO C lens, so i was depressed. I went and bought a Canon 80 D for that Lens and now i love it, auto focus works fast. But I wonder too about the MC-11 adaptor for my A6000 if it would make that lens work good on it, but now i don't really need to with the 80 D . I didn't know about the MC-11 at the time i purchased the A6000 or i probably would have bought it. I know this doesn't answer your question but my 2 cents.

I have the Sigma 150-600mm C in Canon mount. I use the Sigma MC-11 adapter. I use the 150-600 mostly for wildlife on my Sony a6000 for max zoom or my Sony a7s if I need higher ISO for shutter speed. It works fine on either camera. I am thinking of trading off for the a7iii or the a6400 for a bit faster AF. But not made of money so I will probably do nothing.

Sigma 150-600mm at 600mm, Sony a6000
Sigma 150-600mm at 600mm, Sony a6000...

I also have the Sigma contemporary 150-600mm f5-6.3 in Canon mount and have used it on three Sony cameras A6500, A7RIII and A7III with the MC-11 adapter and it works great, no issues at all . I just added a Sony A9 and will use it also on that body. FYI I am a pro of over 40 years experience using all major systems.

IMHO this Sigma lens is one of the best performance/price quality lenses I have ever owned, and I own many Sony lenses also. The MC-11 is the best adapter for Sony E-mount, better than the Metabones, I have used both extensively. Cheers
