The halo is a very teensy tiny white line caused (I think) by contrast in the image and sharpening. The shadow is my favorite part of the image- strange that it sorta mirrors the main mitten. Seems to add interest to the photo.

Very nice shot. I see no ghosting or white lines in this picture. Where do you see them?

If you are sharpening in LR, having the radius at 0.7 can eliminate almost all of the haloing.
